Now, either Rosa or Priscilla is there part of the day to tend to Alcide—the Fahey woman used to go, but the agency came one day and found she had tied Alcide to a chair. Hospice comes to tend to Eulalie. She and Priscilla have taken to accompanying Alcide downtown while Eulalie sleeps, to tire him out so he’ll take a long nap afterward and allow them time to fix his supper and do the wash.
