The Escapade of Althea

Chapter 13

Althea's POV

I wake up and the one I saw is Bryan holding my hands. I smile at the thought that he's here worried about me. So I thought, why don't I tease him a little. "Are you taking advantage of me because I'm unconscious?" 

I smile to see he's not even blushing when he heard me but instead he has a surprise and relief look on his face, and when I look around to see the rest of the room I see the others with a surprise face in them too. My smile just got bigger knowing they're all safe and sound and here with me. 

"We were so worried about you,"  Hailey said while approaching me then gives me a hug. She then pushes me away after a minute then looks at me with her worried eyes. "How are you feeling? Are you really okay now?" 

I nodded to her then look at the others then memories of what happened in the tower flashes in my head. I grab my head as it started to get hurt and confuse about what happened. My arms getting cut off by the siren but it also recovered fast, then made the siren blew up. I unconsciously touch my right arm down to my hands. 

I look at my hands and see that my ring isn't there, but before I could ask about my ring Bryan touch my hands again. I look at him and he's smiling, the look on his face is so mesmerizing. 

"You remember now? You were so brave and powerful, we owe our life to you." He said sincerely.

"He's right, even my father wants to thank you," Chloe said then sit down beside me with a big smile on her face. 

"And you do know that her father is the king, so we must hurry and he will prepare many delicious foods for us," Max said grinning to me, and once he said that my tummy started to growl as if it can understand what just has Max said. I laugh so hard because of that and see the others are smiling and started to laugh with me too. I stretch my whole body and stands up "Are you sure you're okay now?"     

I look at Bryan tries to assist me but I just brush him off and smile at him, now I am starting to feel weird about him. Is he trying to make me blush all the time? I should be the one teasing him, not the other way around. "Yes, I can manage now. Don't worry, I am just hungry. My energy will be back once I fill up my stomach, right Max?" 

"Yes, that's right! So let's go to the dining room and meet where the King is!" Max said enthusiastically. He and Bryan are the first to go out of the room. I put my arms to Chloe and Hailey and said: 

"Let's go?" They both nodded but before we could get out of the room,

"You know we're really glad that you are okay." I look at Chloe who just spoke and stop walking. 

"We didn't even know you have that kind of power," Hailey said, my eyebrows met and just sighs.

"Hey, we're all waiting for you." I was about to speak when Max said that. "Let's eat and rest first before we talk about that with Althea. Give her some rest first, Hailey." He continues. 

We all nodded and follow him. Actually, they all know the way and I'm just following all of them, I forgot that Chloe is a princess but chooses to have this kind of adventure. What kind of father does she have? I am curious as to why he allows her to do this kind of job. 

We all arrive in a room where there's a massive table in the center, Chloe leads the way and they all seated to where they want to. I sat beside Chloe and Bryan, Max and Hailey seated across us. 

"Can you call my father and please prepare a feast for us," Chloe ordered in one of their maids. 

"Yes, Princess Chloe." The maid nodded and follow her immediately. I look at Chloe and smile 

"I don't think I can be familiar with you being called like that, or do I need to start calling you Princess too?" I said teasingly to her. 

"Don't tease me like that, you don't have to call me that and you all know that." She explains

"Princess Chloe," Max and I said at the same time. We look at each other and start to laugh. I can see Chloe is annoyed but smiles at us. Bryan and Hailey started to smile too and shook their head. 

And this is why we need to train hard to be stronger because I want to protect what we have right now, and I don't want to lose any of this, I don't want to lose anyone and anything anymore. 

"I am happy that you are all lively and well now." We stop laughing and we all look in the door to see who is speaking, judging by the way he walks and his clothes, he's the King, father of Chloe. He looks at me and approaches me with a smile on his face. "Thank you for saving my daughter's life." 

I stand up and said, "She's my friend so it's not a big deal." I said as I'm smiling. 

"But as her father let me show how grateful I am that she's still here, you're all here alive and well. Thank you." He said then stretch his hands to me, I reach for his hands and smile at him. 

"It is my honor to protect the princess," as I said that I look at Chloe and Max started to laugh unobtrusively. But the moment I let go of his hands, I started to get dizzy. Bryan quickly catches me and let me sit on a chair. 

"Are you okay?" He said. But I didn't mind him as I am seeing things in my head like it's my memory. 

"You have the most beautiful hair I have ever seen, my darling."  The man said while touching my hair. I'm in the woman's embrace and they're smiling and looking down at me. 

"Brother, you are so lucky." Said a man with a familiar face, wait is that the king?

"Hey, you should rest first," Bryan said and that made me snap out of it. I look at them and saw all of them have a worried face. I manage to smile at them and said, 

"I'm sorry I must be so hungry," I said then they start to relax. Max laugh at me, and that made everyone smile and made the atmosphere more calmly. 

The king ordered the maid to put all the foods they have prepared in the table so we can start eating. The mood, atmosphere have been turned into calm and peaceful. They're talking about things and I'm just listening to their stories. 

I look at the King and wonder, why is he on my head? And who's the other person?
