The Escapade of Althea

Chapter 5

Althea's POV

After the fight, I ran away as fast as I can and decided to visit my father. He's a great mage once and a wise man, so I think I need to hear what he thinks. He's a man that I look up to, well he's the only man that I look up to. 

"Hey Dad, I'm home," I said, as soon as I open the door and look around. And it seems he's not here, did he feel or know what just happen? I hope he saw what I did, so he can be proud, but damn an A-rank dragon is attacking here. I heard from my mother's old stories, that dragons haven't seen like 21 years ago. 

I look around and smile thinking of the memories I have here with my mom and dad, I am home. And maybe this is all I need after what happen, I didn't think all of this will be hard. All I want is to have my adventures and have fun. Even it's only a short time that I have been at the Sunshine party, I kind of miss them and think about them. In that short amount of time, I have fun with them and grateful. 

"Baby? Why are you crying?" I look at the door and saw my father with a worried face looking at me. I got up quickly and hug him tight. "Shh. It's alright baby." 

Being in his arms and feeling the warmth of his body made me comfortable. This what feels like home, I like this. We stay like that for at least five minutes and after that, he cooks for me and we just eat and talk about things. I told all the things that happen to me, the adventures I had in the tower, and my party who all left me early. 

And dad sits there just listening to all of my stories with a warm expression to his face. This what I think I need, let this all out. And I have never cried like this before, and I feel so much better after crying my tears out. 

"You know baby, all that happens for a reason. And that's why you have to be stronger, wiser and calmer than before so this tragic won't ever happen again." He said with a smile on his face. 

"But I don't think that having fun is a matter of life and death if I knew it all along, I would be so much wiser and calmer than before." I sigh as I said that and started to think about them again, all of our laughs and quarrels. 

"Baby, all things are a matter of life and death. And happiness is the price you can get, and it is so much worth it. Just be stronger so you can protect the people whose important to you." He said and I smile as I heard what he said. He's correct, and that's what I will do from now on.  

"I'm going to bed, dad. Thank you for listening and for the advice, I feel so much better." I said and stand up to where I am sitting. 

"My pleasure baby, sleep well. You need one, you look ugly already." He said jokingly, I just glare at him and he laughs and shoos me away to the bedroom. I chuckle and go inside the room. I look around the room and feel nostalgic. I miss being a kid, but I see that I need to be stronger so I can protect others well. And I hate to admit but I think somehow, Chloe is right. I lay down in my bed and think about what to do next, I'll try to go back soon. But I need dad, to teach me some new tricks and do some training so I can be more powerful. I am right to go home, I am happy that I did go home. 

I'll sleep the night off then start to talk about these with my father. 

Third Person's POV

As soon as Althea goes into her room, he sighs and looks outside. "Now let's greet the guest." 

He walks towards the door and goes out with a smirk on his face. "Why don't you come out now?" He said. 

He looks to the middle of nowhere and someone just landed in front of him. But the smirk on his face doesn't go away and he just stares to the person whose now in front of him. 

"How did you know I was here? I'm sure I conceal myself." The person who just landed said, he's wearing a black outfit. 

"You should conceal your aura more, I live with an assassin to 10 years. You're nothing than her." He answers back, the person in front of him looks up and stares right to his face and become shocks but doesn't let it show. 

"Patrick the great sage, how are you related to her?" He said to him. Patrick smiles wide and at the same time confused. 

"I am flattered that you know me and you know what I can do to you if you don't start talking why you are here, but who are you referring to 'her'?" Patrick said to the person in front of him with no trace of emotion in his face. 

"Althea" And as soon as he said that, Patrick starts to cast a spell "Impervious Cage", it's a spell where outside that cage can't pass through. The man in black look at what happening and slightly started to panics. 

"I think you go..." He said. But as soon as the cage is cast, Patrick started to attacks him. 

"You don't have to resist, it can be so much easy when you just give up," Patrick said, the man in black just avoid all the magic spell that's attacking him. He just runs and dodges it all. 

While all of this is happening, Althea is woken up from her sleep as she feels something is happening outside of his house. She stands up and gets out of her room and when she saw her dad is not there, she ran towards outside the house and saw the two of them. And once she gets a clear view of whose the person her dad is fighting, she instantly cast a spell. "Wind Drill" 

And the magic spell she cast instantly drill towards the ground up to inside the cage. 

"FIRE BURST" She cast to his dad's spell that will and can kill the other person. The two look at Althea with a shocked face. 

"Althea, what are you doing here?" Her dad asked, but she ignores him and looks at the other person. 

"Bryan, why did you follow me?" She asked and looks at Bryan. 

"You know him?" Her dad said. She looks at his dad and said: 

"Did you not ask him and just start to attack him immediately?" She asked and his dad just nodded shyly and start to undo the cage spell. Althea walks towards Bryan and helps him get up. 

"Why are you here?" She asked again.

"I'm here for you." He answered.
