The Escapade of Althea

Chapter 12

Third Person's POV

Bryan is walking back and forth in a hallway, he's anxious and worried. The room in front of him is where Althea and Chloe are resting. Chloe is now awake but Althea is still unconscious ever since she defeated the siren. 

Max and Bryan carry the three of them to the nearest medical house since the two of them are not wounded at all. But after a day there, the king, Chloe's father, transfer them to the palace so they can fully rest and get treated with the best official healer of the palace. 

The official healer of the palace said that maybe Althea is just resting and became overwhelmed by her powers. They never have seen anyone like it, so it's better to leave her resting since she's okay and does not have any wound at all. They did not believe too that her whole right arm cut off, she healed nicely and do not have any scar at all, like it never been happen. 

"Hailey, where's Althea's ring?" Bryan approaches Hailey and asks her, Hailey's curious to his action but did not ask any question since she sees the worried face of Bryan. She gets the ring to her pocket and put it to his hands. Once he got it, he looked at it and examine the ring. 

Hailey and Max went inside the room once the official healer left, Bryan is standing on the corner examining the ring. They see Chloe is now sitting on her bed and looking at them smiling, Max runs towards her and gives her a warm and tight hug.

"Max, my body is still sore." She said weakly but she's laughing. Max let go of her immediately and then look at her seriously.

"I'm sorry we're not any help there. If only we were awake, this wouldn't happen." He said seriously with a teary-eyed face. She smiles at him and shook her head. 

"Don't blame yourself, we all know why you can't fight. And we did what we could to save you and Bryan, especially Althea." Then they all look at her smilingly. The room becomes quiet as they all looking at her worriedly but it broke off when Bryan enters the room and spoke. 

"It seems like, this ring is as a magic sealant," Bryan said and they all look at him who just enters and is still looking at the ring. "This ring is a magic ring, and seal most of her powers. I am sure that Patrick gives this to her on purpose. But why?" Bryan pause for a moment and shook his head then look at Hailey. 

"Do you remember what we felt when she's rejuvenating her arms, Hailey? " 

"Yes, I am shocked to see her like that, it seems like a new Althea with a dangerous and powerful aura. She is so strong that she kill the siren in one magic cast. That's why we're covered in blood because the siren's whole body explode." She explained, the two who didn't experience this tremble while they listen to her. They all look her for a minute, but their gaze didn't have any hint of fear but instead full of admiration. 

"It's been two days since the fight, and yet she's still sleeping," Bryan said and you can hear he's worried due to his voice. Chloe looked at him and smiled

"Let her rest, she should be fine since she saved us all," Chloe said while looking at Althea sleeping. Bryan just sighs and makes himself calm. 

"I have never seen you like this before, even we're in danger you are the calmest in all of us. And yet now, you are the most nervous." Chloe teased him, and with that the room atmosphere change, it became more soft and warm. The rest of them laugh as Chloe teases Bryan who has a poker face while looking at them. 

"I have been thinking, what if we don't return this to Althea and let her train first how to control her powers without the need to seal it. It will help us all, especially to conquer the higher floors." Bryan said seriously to them as they all listen to him. Bryan is the most observant and the one on the team who does all the plan and strategy. So they trust him when it comes to this, they listen to his plan and suggestion and after some thoughts, they'll all agree. And just like today, after hearing what he said they all quiet and think about it.

"Maybe it's best if we ask her first, for I know that ring is her mother momento." Chloe said to them.

"But you know her well and she will wear this again," Bryan said

"I can't agree with you on this one Bryan, as much as I know and will be a benefit of her powers to us, we still have to ask her as a sign of respect to her," Max said, Chloe nodded as a sign that she agrees with what he said. 

"I totally agree with Max, sorry Bry," Chloe said unapologetically. Bryan sighs and looks at Hailey for her answer. 

"Well, I want to agree on you that one too Bry. I saw what she's capable without that ring and the truth is I am scared to death when I saw her, it's like she's not the Althea we know. Maybe let's ask her first what she think about that." Hailey said and that made Bryan sighs

"I didn't mean to disrespect her by that, but as you said let's wait for her to wake up and then ask her," Bryan said as he's looking at Althea. Their discussion of that stop as King Joseph and the Royal Advisor Eric, drop by the room. 

"Dad," Chloe said as she fixes her seat to her bed. 

"King Joseph," The rest said and bow to him. 

"Come on, just relax and be comfortable around me. We're the only ones who are just here." King Joseph said. Eric chuckles and just look at them and nodded. "Are you all feeling better? Especially you, Chloe?" 

"We're all fine, thanks to her. She saves our lives, if she weren't there we're all finished by now." Chloe said politely and then look at Althea, they all look at Althea. 

"Well, let's wait for her to wake up and come back so we can say our thanks to her, King Joseph," Eric said to him. King Joseph nodded and smile at the rest of the group. "Let's leave them be so they can fully rest." 

King Joseph approaches Chloe and hugs her. Chloe did the same and felt relief and happy by that. The king pushes her away and looks at her and said: "I'm glad that you're okay." 

Chloe puts a genuine smile on her face while looking at her father. "Me too." 

After that the King walks away and gets out of the room with the Royal Advisor but before they completely go the king said to them: "Once you are fully rested and she's awake, go and see me in my chambers." 

"Yes, we will able to eat some delicious food again." Max burst, once they're completely out of sight. They all laugh and sit there waiting for Althea to wake up. Bryan on the other hand approaches her and sits beside her bed. 

"Don't make us worry. Wake up now or I will tell your father that you are doing this." Bryan said then put his hands to her hands. And once he did that, her eyes open slightly, and looks at her hands being held by Bryan.

"Are you taking advantage of me being unconscious?" She asks, and all the elites look at her with a big surprise on their face.
