The Escapade of Althea

Chapter 7

Third Person's POV

"What did yo..." Bryan didn't finish what he's about to say when Patrick suddenly gives him a kick in the face continuously. Like what he said, Bryan defends himself and also thinks that there's no way that he can attack him for now. Patrick doesn't use magic much like before but he starts to attack him physically and that's why Bryan is in pinch right now. He doesn't know that he can do that too, like father, like daughter. He smirks in the thought of that.

After a few minutes of defending himself, Bryan is getting beat up by him. Althea on the other hand starts to get annoyed by what they are doing. So she goes and keeps the fire spell going while she gives a hand to Bryan. And that surprises Patrick, he didn't know how she manages to learn that, but he's not surprised. He knows that she can achieve and learn great things. Althea starts to cast a spell to make Patrick stop attacking him and give a few seconds to Bryan so he can step back and looks at Althea. They look at each other and nodded, Althea starts to distract Patrick by casting a Fire spell that will blow him away. 

Using that opportunity, Bryan starts to counter-attack to him but Patrick swiftly dashes towards Althea. And that surprises both of them. 

"You should focus on breaking the cage if you want to end this fast," Patrick said to her after he dashes toward her and then kick her in her stomach full force and that makes her stumble to the ground and feel pain. And then he dashes again towards Bryan.

Althea grunts and spits some blood. "This is why I hate training with him, he is too serious." 

Bryan and Patrick are attacking and defending themselves. Bryan starts to dashes towards him then attacks him with a punch and kick when he can but to no avail, Patrick just dodges all the attacks of him. Patrick counter-attacks him and Bryan just dodge it all too but most of the time he still getting hit by him. 

He pounds towards Patrick and kicks him, but since he can sense Bryan's aura he can easily dodge all the attacks from him. And that annoys Bryan so much. He stops and looks at him intently then sighs before he speaks.

"So how do I do it?" He asks him. 

"As far as I remember, she uses to concentrate all the time until she thinks she's invisible. And that's where I can't detect her aura. Try doing that in another time." Patrick answers him while reminiscing his late wife. He smiles by thinking of her, his great wife, Mary the demon assassin. 

Althea shakes her head by the sight of them and focuses on breaking the cage. She concentrates and burst her magic out. The cage started to c***k and that surprises the two. Patrick smirks and looks at her and Bryan uses that to attack Patrick. But he dodges it quickly. Althea saw all that and cast a fire spell to trap her dad. So Bryan grabs that chance to attack him again. 

"You're done." He said before he uses his skill Hell's Sword and pointed at him. Patrick smirk and at the same time the cage breaks and starts to vanish. Bryan and Althea look at each other and smile. 

"Good job you two!" Patrick said and after he said that he started running towards her and give her a hug, and she did the same. "Where did you learn to do two spells at once?" He asks. 

"I don't really know, I just saw you and Bryan and started to get annoyed that you two are still fighting." She said, Patrick approaches her and hug her. 

"Sweetie, your amazing. You have to be calm always and focus on the surrounding. Don't you ever panic again, it will destroy you." Patrick said to her daughter while looking at her intently.

She nodded and smile to her father, she's really glad that she decided to go home. She starts to walk towards Bryan that's been looking to them, he smiles at her and approaches her too. 

"I'm going to be on your team, but I need to test them out too. So we will all know our capabilities and strength." She said, and he smiles at her.

"That's what they want too, don't you worry. Once we're back on the city, I will take you to them." She nodded and look at his father smiling at them. 

"Then let's go back to the city tomorrow." 

Althea's POV 

"Do you think they will like me?" I ask Bryan out of nowhere. We are now traveling back to the city. And once reach it, we will go directly to where Chloe and other members of the Elite. I am excited and nervous at the same time, according to others even the great mage now in the city didn't pass them and didn't let them join the party. 

"I'm sure they'll love you, so just be yourself. Chloe and I will back you up, show them how great you are." He said with a smile. Wow, Bryan is so kind and nice to me. It's a plus that he got the look too, totally my type. "Do you find me attractive, Althea?" 

And that's all of my senses come back to me, I look away and I know now that I am blushing. I ran fast as I could so he won't see it. I heard him laugh so I look back and see what he look likes when he's laughing. And I knew it, my heartbeat fast. That's weird, never have this feeling before. I am not tired and all, so what's up? I slow down a bit and take a deep breath. 

"Are you okay?" I heard Bryan run towards me and ask me with a concerned tone.

"Yes, I think so," I said and look at him. "Come on, let's go and travel fast." 

I started running but he grabs my arm and stops me. 

"Wait, let me carry you." He walks past me and sits down, waiting for me to get on his back. 

"Are you for real?" I ask

"Yes, so don't make me wait for too long, or else I will carry you like a sack of rice." I laugh and get on. He carries me and checks if I'm comfortable. I blush but then laugh remembering what he said to me.

"As if you can do that to me," I said. He just chuckles and starts to move.
