———— ALEXIA'S 1ST POV—————
“Ha! When you say it like that, it makes me riled up!
I promise not to make you disappointed.”
Then the attacks came in...
/Crash/
/TWANG/
/HONG/
/SHII/
They came in a successive, hazardous manner. They were all against each other in the end.
Alexia was way round surrounded. The other two had clamped on her rear and ganged up in delivering punches and kicks, along with a dice of their powers.
‘Why are they so determined to kill the other? Damn!’
“Why are you going on and on? Just stop let's think things out!”
“f**k you!” One of the girls answered.
On Alexia's right and left, the two girls left no leeway for her to take.
Added to the fact that she had used her abilities when defending against Kiragi's attacks, she was growing weaker with every hit.
The girls were no cheap chaps at all!
One of them could turn water to ice, and manipulate them as she pleased.
The other one could control spilled blood, literally!
These abilities weren't average at all.
By the way, Kiragi had his own life troubles. The only Young man in the group of three settled on him.
It was a wonder since Alexia remembered they were buddies not too long ago.
They fought tooth and nail for the death of the other person they didn't know anything about.
If there was one consolation, then it was that all had sinned, and were condemned. Every one of them was scum to society.
When you think it that way, how wouldn't you have the urge to kill?
Alexia parried the Ice shards with her powers. But although they couldn't penetrate her defenses, they still left prickling pain when they hit.
“Get Back!” Alexia's shout route havoc on the surrounding trees. The girls were also pushed backward. One, the ice princess, coughed out blood. But she was still okay and walked forward again.
“I wonder how long you can still use your abilities... Two minutes? Three? After three minutes you'll be long dead. And there's nothing you can do about it.”
She noticed two things,
That her —and everyone— abilities, most have started from ground zero and would grow when they accomplish whatever steps they had to.
The next was, it was like an engine, and she was the fuel.
She hewed weaker the longer she used her abilities. Since it was a case study of life and death though, she had no other option.
If she stopped to recuperate, the girls would swoop for the kill. But if she continued to use her abilities regardless, then...
“Since there isn't much of an option, I'll just have to fall all in” Her eyes was calm.
“Anha? The girl finally snapped. Misses has turned crazy.” The blood kinetic girl joked.
“Come forward then, bastards! I'll show you that the only place you can stand is below me”
———————————
Kiragi faced off against the young man, or to be precise, a boy about his age. The reason for the misunderstanding was from his jugged handsome features and fiery eyes. In every way, he looked like the type who have seen the world, and all the hate it had to offer.
Someone with an experience like that was no boy.
“Ciel, Fletcher. Nice to make your compliance.”
“Don't just stand there. Go in and kill that bastard!” Karen yelled at him. But he still stood there, his eyes glued on Kiragi's every movement.
“Now, Now, we didn't get to exchange such pleasantries when we got the chance. Do you want it now? When we are facing off against each other... Till death?”
‘They know each other! This bad for me’ Karen, the amazonian hurriedly put some space between them. But not too far away, so she could still place an arrow when she had the chance.
“Your name,” Ciel said with a low, warning voice.
“Oh. Kiragi Lancet.”
“I knew a Kiragi before. He was just this small.”
“What a coincidence, I knew a Ciel before... He was a bitch.”
“...”
“....”
Both of them suddenly moved forward. Kiragi had superficial knowledge about Karate and Judo... But he could apply this theoretical knowledge thanks to his heightened reaction and processing speed.
Alas, he was up against Ciel.
Their first clash and Kiragi was already on the defensive. Ceil would always target his vital spots with relenting. He fought like a bear, but every of his hit had profound skills layered under them.
“Y-you went to a school?”
“Tae Kwon Do” Ciel replied. His breathing wasn't erratic nor did he have beads of sweat on him.
“Oho? It looks like I need to turn serious then, lest I might be hurt from your ‘Way of Fist and Leg’ techniques...”
“You know martial techniques. And even though you try to hide it, your martial prowess still shows... What technique do you use?”
Kiragi smiled, “Ninjutsu. Nihon koryu jujutsu,”
“... Formidable.”
“I should say the same to you.”
“...”
“....”
The next split second, both of them were off their feet.
Ciel delivered a roundhouse kick at pinpoint towards Kiragi's head, which Kiragi deftly negated with his elbow placed at an angle to make Ciel's leg pass just above his head.
Kiragi then whipped his legs and caught Ciel's back, but his leg bounced off as if he hit a car tire.
“You do work out!?”
“Why the f**k do you seem angry?”
“f**k!”
The two of them exchanged blows that picked up dust. At some point, they left off all their restraint and used their powers.
Kiragi had 4 times the strength, speed, and reaction speed of a normal adult male. That could make him king of any school he enrolled in.
Ciel was a body person too. As his abilities did not give him any flashy skill or something— as Kiragi could discern.
“Be careful,” Ciel warned, before striking out.
There was a quantitative discrepancy from the strength behind this strike, as compared to the first.
So much that Kiragi was wholly picked off his feet and prodded to the corner!
What sort of mad strength is this?
‘No, this ain't brute strength, it's something else!’
“*Coughs*”
“Can you stand? Are you finished yet?”
“Do you, do you think I-I'll go down with just this? Come!” Kiragi shot up and met with Ciel's strikes again.
‘There will be no disaster if they don't hit...’
Jujutsu was about softness. The ability to negate attacks of heavy hits with little effort.
Kiragi didn't use three years bowing down to a ‘Sensei’ for nothing. He did grab some skills. And a lot at that.
Ciel's punches packed a punch. Kiragi could literally hear the shock waves from the zipping of his fist. If his reaction speed hadn't been boosted as it was now, Kiragi would surely be dead before three seconds.
‘Calm the Mind. The body follows the Mind. Command the Mind, Command the Body.’
He was now like a fish in the sea. This was his territory.
Ciel's blows were only met with air, and Kiragi would accurately attack at the same time.
When Ciel's attacks hit, Kiragi would be ready to deflect the blows. It wasn't easy, there was always a nearly... But in the end, Kiragi came out alive.
“Good, Good.” Ciel's beamed with a sunshine smile. “Again!”
.
He delivered an Elbow, ridge hand, and a stepping punch in quick succession.
Yet kiragi only met up with a front snap kick to counter his blows.
Kiragi swept low on his thorax, with great force.
The loud this sound came up, and Ciel was pushed backward. Kiragi became triumphant too early. Ciel met have fallen, but Kiragi was too light to pin him down and deliver punches.
Ciel simply lifted him and slammed on the ground. The force made Kiragi spurt a jet of blood.
“Again!”
“Wait a f*****g second!” Kiragi gave the white flag.
“Huh? Don't disappoint me—”
“f**k off! You're a masochist. Because I don't believe any person with real grey matter in his cranium would think the way you do... Using such a means to have a breakthrough in your abilities, are you sane?”
“How did you know?” Ciel was surprised.
“I learned martial arts too, duh. *coughs* And I also practiced inner meditation for a bit.”
“Then what should I do?”
“Why do you want to get stronger?”
“To be able to protect the ones I love, I don't want anyone else to leave me. Why did you ask”
“N-nothing”
‘This is crazy! There's actually a guy like this? I asked so that I could dissuade from going doggedly in the path of 'getting stronger' but has already fallen into the hero's path.’
“Fine. If you want, to, know...” Kiragi shuttered suddenly.
A sharp feel of dread, deep enough to cause sweat to trickle down his spine came over him.
“There's only one way to overcome your limits, and that is to die. Ciel! We've got a monster heading our way!”
