———— CIEL'S 3RD POV————

“Argh! I'll be damned! I lost everything. My backpack, my knife, my tent.”

“Should I remind you to be thankful you still have your life?”

Ciel woke up earlier and could not remember where he was. He was alone in a dimly lit room. And he was on nothing but his briefs.

“Aish, don't remind me about it. I don't get why specific people are so O.P, while the rest of us are just like NPCs in the system”

“What are NPCs?”

“Nonplayer character. Everyone knows that” Ciel scratched his head.

“Everyone who's either a dumb shut-in or jerks off to cosplay girls” Yuuri glared at him.

Ciel was quick to shrink his head into his neck.

“Then what is O.P?”

“It's short for overpowered. Everyone knows this.”

That did not come from Ciel, but surprisingly, it was Yuuri that spoke.

“Now this is accepted? Do I look a fool to you?”

“Why are you laughing!?”

‘Am I that stupid?’ Ciel leaned back on his wheelchair, before jerking back out when he felt his back sprain.

“Damn! How come my body hurts all over? And not you—” His suspicious eyes were on the girls. Could there be feminism here too?

“You should be grateful that you're even alive. You should feel better after some days though.”

“How did you know?”

“Um, because I felt the same way too” Elaine spoke softly.

“Okay then.” Ciel didn't know why they kept giving him strange looks. Until it keyed in,

“We some up the same time! And took the same treatment!

You took something didn't you, are you taking me for a fool?”

“Ha, I can't keep this up any longer. Look at the pocket bags just beneath your Armrest. There's your miracle drug. Along with the correct dosage.”

“How dare they! It's simple to just say whatever was on their mind. Why did they not tell us?”

“Well, they did and even asked if we understood three times... All three times you bobbed your head in acceptance.”

‘Maybe I'll always be an idiot.’

He didn't care about that though. He had stopped caring since before dropping out of high school.

There was a time his father would look at him and sigh. That was still when they placed their hopes on getting him to medical school.

It was different now. He still put food on the table for his family of five and had the chance to visit his adorable baby twin sisters once a week.

It was cute when they called him ‘Big brother’ with their high octave voices.

In a nutshell, he didn't get his dream job. But he got something that kept him and his family afloat, to the juncture of being called ‘wealthy’

The comparative income was the same, but where one side saves lives,

So it was refreshing to have someone he could finally talk to in peace, apart from his family.

He even felt like how he did in high school. It was pitiful, really.

“So, when you say O.P, you're talking about Julius right?” Elaine asked with a lowered voice.

Yuuri piped in, “I heard Alexia still hasn't woken up. I never knew Energy Drain was so scary.

According to the doctors, her chances of making it are between 50 to 60%.”

“Kiragi’s got the worst out of it though. He lost an arm! Even the doctors kept quiet about his condition.”

“En. It'll be a miracle if he makes it. From the reports, his organs were all mush and he had seized breathing!” Yuri held out her right hand in a panic gesture.

The only person who bought her story was Elaine, He eyes went round thinking about it.

Ciel, “You were in bed the whole time! How did you see his medical report? You don't even know what theatre he is in!”

Yuuri puckered her tongue out. “Ah!? You caught me”

‘Honestly. And they say am not the brightest tool of the shade. Shame on you Mamma!’

“But Kiragi should be left in the corner. Let's talk about something interesting. Like that red glowy champagne that is in YOUR IMAGINATION!! Haha! What? How can this not be funny?”

“If you hadn't said those rude words, then I might have laughed. You've ruined my mood now.” Elaine could not look at Yuuri who became closer like a sister to her the other day.

“What? You mean badmouthing the chap?”

“After all he did for us. He lost his arm to give us the hint of defeating him. Why would you treat him like air?”

“I treat like air, whoever I believe IS air... And that means insignificant.”

Ciel panicked on his wheelchair. He hated confrontations. especially with cute girls that looked the cheerleader part.

It always reminded him of his High school.

‘I hate school’

“Yuuri! Now you're just mean!” Elaine screamed.

“Mean? Mean you say? Mean is looking out for you?

That devil incarnate helped no one but himself. He was always like ‘Alexia do this!’ ‘Ciel get going!’ ‘The girls make this work’

But if you look closely, like REALLY looked closely, he did not expend energy as we did.

He only fought with his normal punches and kicks right? Not for once did he use his powers! Not even when Ciel was in trouble.

And the biggest lie would be that he couldn't use his powers then. When we walked in on them, he had the arrow girls on knifepoint.

A normal DWEEB won't be able to get the upper hand against someone with that kind of powers.”

“He had his hand amputated! Can't that be a consolation that he didn't mean it?”

“After that, what else did he do? Did he go unconscious? It was fake.

I took blood from him the time I had to merge with Elaine's spear, and I thought I should clog the vessels on his arm to keep him alive for a while.

One of my abilities is to sense the state of the human I take blood from, checking his circulatory system.

“Are your brains clogged? He wanted to swoop in and kill us when we were unconscious! He was awake and had the energy to spare when Alexia bled to the toes for us. He used us! He is, a, sinner”

Her concluding words were impactful, but it was losing effect as the duo watched her roll her wheelchair back to her room.

“Ciel, can you go back? I need to be alone for a while.”

“Don't let what she said to get into you—”

“It's not that. I just want to, breathe fresh air. Sorry, that sounded rude just now”

“I'm going. But I want to say something. Fighting together, with all of you, together, was the feeling I've had since coming to this hell.

I don't know what's going to happen in the future. But somehow, I feel like i-if I leave our group, going to regret it.

Whatever you plan to do. Don't regret it.”

Ciel's words lost the effect too when he clambered with his wheelchair to find the door.

“Leave no regrets. Our team was a short-lived one.”
