The boy said nothing but passed right by me, and the others without even a hint of countenance on his face.
‘Nothing to worry about, Alexia. Just another Mike.’
I spy around to see the looks of the others. Some became surprisingly mute as they stared at him, others scoffed... Then some others, like the bulky military man, or the mafia boss lady, or the cold chilling ninja —or some kind of assassin,
They all gave him another look, a long one at that.
As if they had met their comrade. I unconsciously shrank back when I noticed this.
*Clap Clap Clap*
The pulpit was now occupied by a figure of a man with a weird boar mask... The most hated nemesis of everyone alive, and dead too.
“Debby! Debby's dead! Debby you're dead! Why did Debby Die?” A man couldn't hold it any longer. He reached out for a rod that he got after dismantling the stand-in chairs in the hall.
This was an act he carried out right from the start, but I wasn't that surprised as to when and how he broke the chairs and stole iron rods and not a single one of us knew... Trust the actions of a person even the world hates.
What I was jaw-slacked about, was the person in particular. This was the very man who hugged the altar in tears just a minute ago.
His eyes looked pained and filled with helplessness then. It's truly a wonder what goes on in people's minds... Even the holy book was just as astonished.
“I see, I see, so this is where you got your confidence from. But you underestimate our intelligence.” The boy from before hadn't walked far away from me, I heard him whisper something with a weird chuckle.
In that instant, the man with the rod spoke out to everyone fearlessly,
“Brothers! Sisters! Everyone, why are you standing there with such a disgusting look of helplessness? I don't believe this ‘thing’ in front of us is invincible. Gather around. Take what you have and protect yourself.
Remember, People's Bond. This is stronger than even the strongest power... No, it IS the strongest power.
With us together, we can tame seas!!”
No one moved. After his speech, only Dorian—or as he instructed us to call him— our administrator cackled at his foolhardy.
The man obviously wanted meat shields!! People who would make up the numbers and move out as a crowd. Of course there was power on the multitude, with everyone contributing bits of their strength, Dorian would be hard pressed against attacks at all angles.
Maybe he really did not have selfish desire, maybe he was pained and needed justice.
But, no one was a fool here. Everyone had ran without hesitation when the man-eating monsters appeared, and we were all scared when our administrator showed us his special ability— at the cost of a life.
Recalling that, none of us would ever think about falling headfirst into the mine again.
Even if there was a possibility we could defeat Dorian, the chances that more than half of us die here are above 100%. No one wanted to be a part of the unlucky half.
..
Or so I thought before a sleek hand reached out for a rod too.
He tested the weight on his hand while he nodded as if in a daze... It was the freaking boy!!
..
What the f**k is he thinking? He of all people should understand the trap he would fall into.
..
My thoughts were further disrupted with a comment from the back,
“Well said. Truly patriotic of you. Fighting for humankind!” The man donning on camouflage trousers walked to the front,
The one who started everything with that biased speech cringed when he saw the muscles bulging out of the soldier's ripping t-shirt.
“Count me in, am also a patriotic person you see. It's my duty to save America, it's my duty to save the world. Though I would prefer to use an IWI Tavor. Those babies are sleek!!”
Was it horror that made my heart flutter? I wasn't sure, I wasn't sure of anything now.
‘Forget them. They're just behaving unruly. What a blatant show-off.’
. I know I've been picking out bad points from people a little bit too much lately. But this is the only way I can forget them... lest their deaths weigh on my mind.
And I don't want that.
As if rallied by these two, two more people walked forward confidently. One was the woman who held up herself like a mafia boss of some kind of big gang.
The other made me grimace. He looked like a high school dropout.
He wore a headband and made his hair spike up with some sort of long-lasting gel or hair wax. I couldn't help but wonder why our administrator let him like that.
He was handsome. A young man of about 23 or 24, but even with his crazy boy aptitude, he gave off the feeling that he was someone everyone around him hated.
Finally, Dorian spoke. “I hope you all know what you are doing? Aiish! My hand might make a mistake. I can't control them as normal people, you see... Because of ‘things', I make mistakes all the time while writing”
This was a warning, everyone could guess what he meant. That his special powers could pop up at any time and threaten their lives.
This was an obvious threat!
{ Am very sorry. I've been having issues as of late, the most important one being my carelessness... I've lost my damn Story Outline!!!
There's some stuff in my brain, but that's just hints of it. After days spent mulling to bring up a perfect story that would leave you anxious to see the next episode every time ( Author's review of her own book. I can't say anything else ), It pains my heart to start another one... *Whispers— and I don't think it would be as awesome as the first*
But am looking into it. Enjoy the new episodes I'll be publishing from... Right now, to days to come.
I am happy, I can even make up to four of these chapters. So, when you read this, try to follow my book, and leave a comment or something... Please?
Happy Reading }
