Chapter 8

547 Words
Order Garret's POV     I felt some regret for sending Austin out on the mission. I knew well that she and her friends were going to break the border. We brought them here years ago starting with her personal guard. Of course we changed their names so they would never be traced even if any witch happened to break through our wall. They were too powerful together to just let them be loose in the world, we needed their power. Over the years of having Austin break into the offices we moved the actual files into the hidden basement and kept basics on every child so as to not let them find their identity.     Kyle had been the hardest to control leading to a week of rewriting his memories for him to follow us. With him being her personal guard he was too strong willed and the Academy could not have that. Sandra was supposed to never make friends with Austin but we over estimated her age and with them breaking the wall together she will come back. She will make sure, at any cost that Austin dies, even when it's not her fault Sandra's parents died. We made sure of that death and that would thankfully lead us to her no matter how much later it was.     Austin was to be the most powerful Immortal that has ever lived to this point in time. Sitting down with her file made me remember just why we sacrificed so many lives. She was the daughter of a Warlock and an Immortal, a combination that was never supposed to happen, but alas, politics found a way. She has yet to unlock her power, we made sure she would never find out, but her immortality has already become a problem. She has been alive for several centuries and we have had to change many memories to seem as if she has aged normally. Kyle was born in the same century but he was the son of an Elemental so he aged slowly.     Before I could feel the headache fully pounding, Sandra burst into my office.     "Order Garrett, I apologize for the intrusion but I have horrific news. Kyle and Lu-"     I raised my hand cutting her off, "I am aware that they have broken the barrier we are already sending a team."     She let her mouth fall open in shock. I could tell that she wanted to say more but I continued knowing what she wanted. "You can join the team, even lead them, but if you don't recover them you will come back here and face the punishment. Don't forget Sandra you broke the barrier also, you know the rules, you are not exempt."     I waved my hand, dismissing her, not wanting to deal with the worse headache she would bring. They were never supposed to meet again after all. Meaning now we had to clean up our mess. Austin is a trained killer, along with Kyle, Sandra had no chance at survival and that's what we needed. Sandra was a useless human while the other two were vital to the Council. With any hope, and many favors, Austin will be back here and she will soon be a part of us.
