Rune is smiling so wide he's the one who looks like a cat now. He knows something I don't, or he is pleased to have found Julian here. I suck in some air, hoping it contains more courage, and I step towards Julian with my hand offered as a greeting.
"Grace," I smile and he takes my hand. He looks genuinely confused.
"And why should I care who you are? What do you both think you're doing here?"
He tries to retrieve his hand from mine, but I squeeze it tightly and don't let him go. He frowns, even more confused.
"I said, my name is Grace. Grace Jaeris." I say, and his eyes go so wide I think they might pop out of his skull. That would be a nasty sight.
He panics, tries harder to get away from me, but I hold tight.
