While Leah searches for Imogen, I stay behind to keep an eye on Duncan. He is getting progressively drunker, which is odd since I’ve seen that Alpha drink before; he’s never acted like this. He barely acknowledges the she-wolf who claims to be his mate, simply accepting every drink she hands him without question.
I catch Duncan’s Beta, Frankie, as he walks by and ask, “is he going to be okay?”
With a grunt of disdain, he answers, “I’m keeping an eye on him. Any word on Imogen?” I notice that his voice automatically softens when he speaks about her.
