Chapter 10 - Rogues attack

Third-Person POV

Isaac had sat back down with the family and had mind linked most of the family. He didn't want to alarm Sonya but needed to tell her to be careful. Isaac leaned over and whispered to Sonya "RJ told me our family was being watched. A group of off-looking men went into the restaurant and have been watching us since they got there. Sonya, if they try to start anything, I tell you to run. Just do it. Don't argue with me over it. Just go, and I will meet you at the main office downtown since it is closer than home. They have someone there just in case." Sonya stared into Isaacs eyes, hoping that he was joking. That what He had said wasn't true, but she had a very uneasy feeling even before they got to the restaurant. Sonya took a deep breath trying to calm her nerves. Charlene said "So are you hired for the job? When do you start?" Isaac said, "Officially tomorrow. I will be there at 9 am. Sonya, why don't you go with me tomorrow? I can introduce you to Danielle, and she can see when they can get you in for an interview." Sonya said "If that's alright I would love to." Charlene and Ronnie looked at each other. Unsure if her getting this job was a good thing or not. It's not that they didn't want her to thrive. They had become dependent on her for keeping up the house. They knew August would never do it and now that Isaac was most likely moving out. They would have to do more. Essentially, they were lazy, and relied on the money that they received from the state for taking care of her over the years. They had expensive tastes and wanted to live comfortably without the effort of actually earning the money. Isaac said "I will introduce you guys to Danielle as well. If it was OK with you August, was I going to bring her to your birthday celebration?" August said "Sure." You could feel the tension radiating off the family, knowing that there was a group of unsavory folk inside the restaurant watching them. August said "Let's finish the meal and head out." Everyone nodded and continued eating and Isaac paid the bill. The group saw that the family they were targeting was finishing up. They got up and proceeded to enter the patio. Damian and RJ both saw this. Renee was oblivious to it. She said "Damian, just take a drink and relax. Everything is OK." Damian stood up. He said "Renee, those rogues are making a move. You know as well as I do that the pack owns this restaurant, and we need to protect the other patrons here. They have been watching that family outside since they got here, and they are now in the patio area with them." Damian pointed to the patio area. She looked where the rogues were at seeing the table covered with empty bottles. Damian said "Look, I know your fear of rogues. I won't make you fight. You can leave if you want, and I won't think any less of you."

Renee looked at him bewildered. She said "Why don't we just finish our drinks and leave. I'm sure that they can handle this situation without our intervention." She was insisting on him drinking, and given that he hadn't touched it since she put the potion in. The potions active time frame was running out. She was anxiously looking back and forth from the cup to Damian. Damian said sharply, "Enough! Renee, this is why you will never be my Luna. All you care about right now is my finishing this god-damn drink and leaving with you. A Luna is meant to care for their pack members, but right now I can clearly see that all you care about is the title of Luna and being with me. I will never be your mate, Renee. No matter what happens." As he said that, the bartender came and collected the cups from the table. He took the cup to the kitchen and emptied the contents into a leak-proof container and sent one of the Omega's that worked in the kitchen to Doyle Security to be analyzed. Renee hadn't even realized the drink was gone. She was in shock about what Damian had said to her. She would normally defend herself but at this moment she was too stunned to do so.

On the patio of the restaurant, the rogues had approached the family and within seconds had grabbed the girls and were viciously attacking Isaac, Charlene and Ronnie. Charlene and Ronnie were trying to not shift in front of Sonya, but these rogues were pretty much not giving them a choice. 3 of the Rogues had the girls. 2 had August since she was a she-wolf, one on Sonya because they thought she was a human in the mix. From the other side of the restaurant came another 4 rogues. Who split up and were targeting Isaac and Ronnie specifically. RJ had already called for some warriors from the pack to come and help. RJ ran over to help them fight them off. The rogues had started shifting into their wolves. Sonya stared shocked at the sight she was seeing before her eyes. Before she knew it, all the people that were surrounding her were literal wolves fighting except for the man holding her. Inside the restaurant, Damian didn't give Renee attention any more. Once he saw the attack actually start, he ordered the restaurant employees to hide if they were unable to fight. He started to run outside. Renee grabbed his arm. Damian looked at her with disgust and Alpha commanded her to let him go. Her eyes went wide as she had no option but to release him. He had never commanded her like that before. Her plans had all gone to hell. She was sure that tonight would be the night that he chose her. She even procured a very illegal potion. One that only a dark witch could make because they have been outlawed for over a century. She looked around for the glass, and it was nowhere to be found. Perhaps it just got dumped. She turned and stared out the window towards the patio. Watched as the rogues pretty much helped ruin her chances with Damian. That family as well. She had no clue she had even been caught technically prior to this. Renee, being Renee though, needed someone to blame other than herself. She decided that she was not going to fight. Damian gave her an out because of her parents being killed by them. Although not all rogues were like that. It was obvious this group was. She wondered whose orders they were under, as rogues normally don't attack out in the open like that. She will investigate this later. If any of the rogues get spared in this fight, she knows Alpha Damian will take them to the pack cells and interrogate them. She ran through the back and shifted to run back to the pack lands. On her way she saw the warriors that were called for backup to the restaurant.

RJ had managed to help Isaac kill the two he was fighting against. They both went to help the parents fight off the others. August struggled to get away from her attackers, as did Sonya. Damian came out and joined the fight. He immediately smelled his mate. Damian said to his wolf "Loki, focus. Yes, we found our mate, but we need to neutralize the rogues first!" Loki growled. "Fine, I hate when your actually speaking reason to me." Damian immediately went to help the girls. He had not shifted yet, although it seemed that everyone else had except for the girls. The rogue holding Sonya had partially shifted and had his razor sharp claws against her neck in a threatening way. One of the rogues that was holding August let go to fight the Alpha. August took the opportunity to fight back against the one still holding her. She grabbed his arm and effectively broke it, following up with a throat punch, getting the man on the ground where she proceeded to kick the hell out of him. Sonya struggled trying to get away. While the rest of the rogues were either killed or currently being taken down. He said "F**k this mess." He proceeded to s***h at Sonya's throat and start to run away. At that moment, the pack warriors showed up and knocked the man out and proceeded to do the same to any rogue left standing that wasn't a part of the pack or family that was being attacked. August ran and hugged the Alpha, thanking him for coming to her family's aid. Damian could smell his mate on this girl, but there were no warm tingles from her touch. He knew it was the other girl. He turned away from August, telling her to go to her parents while they made sure that no one else was lying in wait. Isaac ran to where he had seen Sonya and saw her bleeding on the ground unconscious. He put pressure on the wound. Yelling for help. Damian ran over as the warriors met with RJ to talk about everything. Damian could smell immediately that this was his mate. Loki howled in agony. They found their mate, and they were right. It was one of Isaac's sisters. And here she is fighting for her life. He called RJ over. August said "Why did they attack us?" Charlene said "Honey, I don't know." RJ said "Our warriors are taking the rogues that didn't choose to die today to the cells on our packlands. We will find out why they attacked like this. I suggest you all come as well. We will put you up in the pack house and have guards for when you need to go off pack lands." He proceeded to go over to Damian. Damian said "I want first c***k at these rogues. They are going to be put to death for trying to kill your Luna. RJ, get the pack doctor on the phone, we need to get her to the hospital ASAP." RJ was slightly shocked but nodded and proceeded to do what Damian asked. First things first, they were getting Sonya to the hospital.
