Alpha Damian and his peculiar mate

Chapter 2- Damian

Third person POV

Damian is the new Alpha to his pack. His mom and dad the previous Alpha and Luna retired and found that Damian was ready to take over. They always hoped he would have found his mate at the age of 18 but he hasn't been lucky in that department. The previous Alpha is Richard Cummings and the Luna's name is Carolyn. They were 18 when they found each other and have helped build the Crystal moon pack to be one of the biggest in the Oklahoma area.

Damian grew up learning from there how to be strong but fair. He saw even the omegas being treated with compassion and paid a living wage. He noticed when traveling with his parents for different meetings rather it be for the family business or pack business that things were wildly different in some other packs. A couple they had seen even saw s*****y still being implemented and it made his blood boil. It wasn't as common place as it had been years before, but the fact it was still happening enraged him. He vowed never to let that happen on his land under his authority.

He was 22 now and had been running the pack since his 20th birthday. Working at his families business since he was 18. His family's business was called Doyle Securities. Damian's dad made it during the time the internet was just starting and has built it to a worldwide high end business with offices all over the world for all the cyber security needs that are out there. Damian had graduated high school early and went straight to college for business and cyber security. So when he took over the pack it made sense for him to take over the business as well.

There were plenty of she wolves that wanted to catch his eye. Renee was one of them. She accompanied him on many occasions when it came to charity benefits and mating balls. She was very pretty with long, thick dirty blond hair. They were not mates but that didn't stop Renee from fantasizing that maybe one day he would take her as his chosen mate and make her the Luna of Crystal Moon. She was the niece of his fathers Beta. Renee had come to the pack when she was 10 because her parents were killed in a rogue attack at crescent moon. Her parents were the Beta couple there under Alpha Don. Alpha Dons son Steven was set to take over there. An although there isn't a current treaty between the two packs. If she were able to convince Damian to let her be his chosen and Luna it would secure one. Alpha Don ran his pack like it was in the older days where they did not treat Omegas or lower ranking wolves with much respect or even decency. Unless they came from money, then they could buy respect from the Alpha. Not anything like Damian and his parents or pack for that matter.

It was a adjustment for Renee when she moved in with her Aunt Ellen and Uncle Roger. She was so used to basically being spoiled and getting her way in her old pack due to her status and the money her parents had that she didn't have any basic decency at all. She bought her way though things there. Ellen and Roger did their best to try and show her how things were done here at Crystal Moon and that she couldn't act that way here. They still spoiled her but she slowly learned what to do and what not to do when people were watching her. She could act proper and treat people proper but only when it really benefited her or when she knew someone was watching. She was a very manipulative person. Damian didn't see it, nor her aunt and uncle either. The omegas did everyday. She would treat them like slaves unless someone was there to witness it. The omegas feared her as she has killed one. But didn't get caught as she took them to the forest around the pack land and made it look like a rogue had done it. The omegas knew what was happening. They did their best to steer clear of her when ever she was in the pack house.

Damian had been mostly waiting for his mate. He would flirt with she wolves and once in a while take one on a date but he never let it go further then that. The elders of the pack were pushing for him to take a chosen mate if he didn't find his fated true mate soon. Neither Damian or his parents liked this as there is no love like the mate bond. A chosen mate bond is almost as good but it's slightly different, some things weren't as strong as others when it was a chosen bond. Damian was a believer that the goddess knew what was best when it came to mates and the bond was sacred. Renee on the other hand didn't see it the same way. Renee thought the bond was just as good if it were a chosen one. She hadn't come across her fated mate either Damian knew that Renee could cause a issue if he were to find his fated only because of how jealous she seemed when others had his attention but he did not know how she felt about the sacred bond between fated mates. He never asked and was innocently oblivious about it. While he waited for his, she did not. An would sleep with various warriors when she felt the need or thrill to. Little did Damian know what he was in for when his mate did show up.
