Twenty minutes later and we’re loading the bags into Connors car, he’s insisted on driving apparently I’m not in the right headspace to be safe. As I go to jump in beside him Zac catches my hand and pulls me towards the back seats.
“let them sit together” he whispers with a nod to Daisy and damn well he’s right, the more time they spend together the better. I climb into the back and scoot over as Zac follows closely behind me. I catch the surprised look on Daisy’s face “I was going to sit in with Ari”
Zac closes the door as he states “No need, I’m here, you keep Con company” She looks a little stunned but gets into the front and sets the sat nav for Con. I see him check on me in the mirrors before he silently peels out of the spot heading for home.
