Aurelia’s POV He can feel the air in the hallway, thick and stifling. Sierra just stands there, her hand clamped onto Drake’s elbow like a f*****g vice, her smirk growing wider the moment she sees Julian’s and my reactions to her cryptic words. “What are you talking about?” Julian snaps, his voice hard enough to slice glass. Sierra cocks her head, pretending you innocent. “Oh, didn’t Daddy tell you? That’s someone up there tipped him off about our dear Aurelia here.” She pauses, relishing the moment. “Well, turns out, she looks like she’s not who she says she is.” My stomach drops. Beside me, Julian tenses, his fingers wrapping around my hand by reflex. I want to pull away, hide, but his touch roots me, holds me together while the weight of Sierra’s accusation threatens to crush me.
