Aurelia's POV
The big wooden door of Principal Thompson’s office closes behind me with a soft sound. That small sound feels loud because of the storm of thoughts in my head.
Dismissed.
That word echoes making everything worse. I walk forward slowly each step heavy with shock and a growing anger I can hardly control.
Mrs. Hawthorne. My own teacher. She saw everything. Her betrayal hurts like a punch in the stomach. It feels like Sierra gave me the Wolvesbane herself.
My dad… his face cold and disappointed. I’ve seen that look before but tonight it stings more. The lies and unfairness in the air make it worse.
Sierra is winning. Again. The idea tears at me. But something feels wrong. It’s too easy. This fake win smells like fear like she’s desperate to keep control.
