**Vascillia** My body felt stiff and it was a moment before I could open my eyes. When I first opened them the light made me snap them shut being so bright. I felt a presence in the room with me but instead of making me scared or defensive it made me feel calm and want to curl up and sigh with contempt. That scared me even more. Another’s presence always sent fear to my heart reminding me of my pack and brother. why the change now? I slowly opened my eyes letting my eyes get adjusted to the light and looked around. The room was done in dark comfortable colors. The carpet was black and so thick my feet would disappear if I stepped down. The walls were a dark blue and the furniture was all in a dark brown wood. A black couch was pushed against the wall and sitting on it was a guy, no words could describe how amazing he looked. His hair was dark brown that framed his face. Light jeans clung to his legs showing how muscular they were. A tight black t-shirt strained to cover a chest that would swallow me. He was nothing but muscle and I would only come to his shoulder. When he noticed me awake and staring at him I saw a smile cross his lips with worry as well as relief in his eyes. Why would he be worried? I realized I was in his bed and wondered how I got here. Suddenly memories from before came crashing back and I scooted back as far as I could clutching the comforter as close to me as I could and hid my face scared. What had they done to me while I was out? He didn’t look like any of the guys that had attacked me but I don’t know what happened after I blacked out and he has given me no reason to trust him. “P…Please don’t hurt me,” I whispered knowing he would hear. I heard a whimper and felt the bed dip as he sat down beside me. I cringed and curled up under the blankets. I know it was childish but I couldn’t help it. Flashes of before kept running through my mind. “Lisy I’m not going to hurt you ever,” I heard him say in a voice that had me melting. It was the same voice I’d heard just before I blacked out. It made me relax a little and I slowly pulled the cover back till I could see him. Wait how did he know my name? Sadness covered his features as he looked down at me as well as a little anger. It didn’t seem like that anger was directed at me though. “Why am I here? Who are you? What happened to those guys?” I asked all at once wanting answers. “You’re here because you’re my mate and you were hurt. I couldn’t have you in another room besides mine, Matrix wouldn’t allow it. I am Liam, alpha of the Blue Moon pack and your mate. I banished those men from my pack after I came across them and what they were trying to do to you. I would have killed them if I wasn’t so worried about you.” So he saved me? Thank God! They didn’t get far. Wait did he say mate? I don’t have a mate. “I don’t have a mate,” I said lost in thought. Everyone always told me that since I didn’t shift I didn’t have a mate and I’d believed them. “Do you not feel the pull?” he asked looking at me seriously. “I don’t know what the pull is,” I said honestly. He gave me a weird look before saying “You feel comfort and happy in my presence along with a need to be close to me. You’re extremely attracted to your mate more so than anyone else. If I was to touch you you’d feel tingles go through you,” he listed off still staring at me. I climbed completely out from under the covers letting the feeling of safety that had been beating at my walls take over as I slowly reached my hand out to his face. I slowly and ever so gently placed my hands on his cheek. Tingles came across my fingertips and spread throughout my hand. I let my whole hand cup his cheek and watched as he closed his eyes and turned his head till his lips were kissing my hand. His lips were so soft against my hand. “What did you mean by you don’t have a mate,” his words snapped me out of my daze. I thought for a moment, wondering if I should trust him. He may be my mate but my own parents and brother as well as pack didn’t love me. What made me think he would. I felt my heart break at that thought and I decided to just give him a chance, “I can’t shift.” I closed my eyes so I wouldn’t see the disgust or anger on his face. When I felt his body shift on the bed I cringed away expecting a blow. Instead I felt arms go around me pulling me against his chest. It felt so good being next to him that I didn’t have the strength to pull away. “I don’t care if you can’t shift. You’re my mate, MINE. I love you for you, besides I’ve already met your wolf Arianna,” I looked up at him confused. “Arianna came as soon as I got you home after the doctor checked you over. She took off to get some food a little while ago,” he said his lips pressed into my hair. Arianna was here? ‘Arianna?’ I thought through our link. ‘Yes my child I’m glad you’re awake and have finally met your mate. I’m in the trees surrounding the house hunting, I will be up when I’m done,’ she said back. I sighed in relief. At least she was safe. I pulled out of his arms even though every muscle screamed at me not to. Just because he was my mate doesn’t mean I can trust him. That had to be earned and the only one successful at that was Arianna. He frowned as I pulled away but my face must have told him not to push it. Before the silence got to bad my stomach gave a fierce growl. I blushed a deep red before looking at him hopefully. He laughed and said, “I better feed that tummy of yours before it decides to eat me.” “Grr,” I gave a playful growl smiling at him. I couldn’t help it! He was so gorgeous and my body was screaming at me to go to him. His eyes narrowed at me playfully before a grin spread across his face. The house seemed empty as we walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. When he got in to the kitchen he ran his hand through his hair nervously. The motion had me mesmerized as I imagined my hands running through his hair as I pulled him closer and… wait what am I thinking? I gave myself a mental shake as he said, “So cereal or toast. I’m afraid that’s all I know how to cook for breakfast.” I laughed shaking my head before I made my way to the icebox. I may have been living in the wild but I still remembered how to cook. After grabbing out the things I needed for sausage, bacon, eggs, and cheese toast I set to making breakfast. He leaned against the counter for a while before he got in my way then sat at the table watching my movements with awe. When I had everything made I set it out on the table before grabbing him and myself a plate. I made myself an extra-large glass of milk, something I’d missed dearly. He grabbed himself a pop before sitting back down across from me and pilling his plate high with food watching my every move as I did the same. We ate in a silence that, to my surprise, was quite comfortable. When we were done I started to clear the dishes before he growled and pushed me back down in my chair taking the plates from me. “You had to cook. I’m doing the dishes. You sit there and rest,” he said giving me a look. I tried to hide my smile as he turned and headed for the sink. Maybe he wasn’t so bad after all. I’d give him a chance, what did I have to lose? I waged a war with myself as I quietly got up and tiptoed behind him. While his hands were under the water I slowly let my hands go around his waist as I laid against his back. I felt him stiffen and instantly I pulled away thinking he didn’t want me touching him. When he spun around I had my eyes on the floor letting my hair cover my face to hide the tears stinging my eyes. He didn’t want my touch. I felt his hand go under my chin and lifted it up till I looked in his eyes. Confusion was clear on his face before they widened in realization. To my surprise he pulled me to him wrapping his arms around my waist. “You startled me. I thought you didn’t really want me. When I felt your arms around me it surprised me and I automatically stiffened. I’m sorry baby,” he said hugging me to him so hard it was pushing the air from my chest. “Can’t breath,” I fake coughed out. He wasn’t holding me that hard. “Oh s**t sorry,” he said loosening up. I laughed and he looked at me confused. “I was joking,” I said still laughing at him. His eyes narrowed at me playfully and his arms became a vice I couldn’t escape. He raised an eyebrow before he began tickling me. I squirmed trying my best to get away from his hands while I laughed. “p…pl…please s…stop,” I stuttered out between laughs. He still didn’t stop enjoying himself. I sucked up all my energy and gave him my best puppy dog pout. My eyes got really big as my eyebrows raised slightly. My lower lip pushed out a little and even did that cute shake. I watched as he instantly stopped and just stood there staring at me his eyes going from my eyes to my quivering lip and back. I could tell he really wanted to kiss me, but I wasn’t ready for that yet. When his arms loosened I jumped out of his arms with a triumphant smile. I saw him shake his head before smiling at me, “That was so not fair.” “Not my fault,” I said backing away from him as he walked forward. He held his hands up in surrender. “Would you like to watch a movie? Everyone else is at school and won’t be back till later. There’s supposed to be a blue moon tonight so the whole pack is gathering for a party and I’d like to introduce you to them as my mate,” he rushed out quickly. I had conflicting emotion about that. What if his pack didn’t like me and treated me like my old pack and family did? What if after he introduced me as his mate and later on decided he couldn’t love me? Finally my heart won out over my mind and I slowly nodded. He smiled a happy smile that had my heart filling with joy liking that I’d made him happy. He led me into the living room that had the biggest flat screen TV I’d ever seen! I plopped down on the couch laying my head on a pillow and curling up in a blanket lying on the back of the couch. Liam put a movie in and pressed play before he sat down near my feet. To my surprise he pulled my feet into his lap and began to massage them. I sighed as I felt my body slowly begin to relax and melt at his soothing touch. The movie turned out to be Soul Surfer. Liam said it was about a girl that got her arm bitten off by a shark and had to learn how to live with it and surf again. It was a great movie, or the part’s I actually saw. Halfway through the movie I fell asleep as he kept rubbing my feet. I woke up feeling completely relaxed and…happy. It was a new feeling and I snuggled into my pillow. It was more comfortable than I remember. Harder too, and when did pillows have legs that wrapped around yours? I opened my eyes to find myself lying on top of Liam who was fast asleep. He looked so adorable while he slept. He looked so innocent. His hair fell around his face framing the hard planes of his face. His lips were slightly parted as I felt his breath against my hair. He had no guards up that were natural for an alpha to have. I couldn’t help but sigh in the comfort and love I felt with him. Yes, even though I’d only known him for a few hours I felt love radiate from him. I laid my head back down on his and slowly fell back asleep. **Liam** I held still making sure I breathed slowly and evenly. I felt as my mate watched me. I was afraid she’d freak out and try to get away from me. She accepted me as her mate but still held herself distant. I had so many questions going through my head. How had she become a rogue? Why was she living out in the middle of nowhere with only a wolf? Even rogues liked to have people around them. Why couldn’t she shift? How was Arianna her wolf yet she wasn’t a part of her? I heard her sigh breaking me out of my thoughts as I felt her lay her head back down on my chest. I wanted to jump and holler I felt so happy! My mate was slowly but surely accepting me fully! I lay there happily just enjoying having my mate in my arms. I was almost back asleep when the door banged open and my pack filed in fresh out of school. I groaned as I felt my mate stiffen. This wasn’t going to be good.
