Despite the fact that the alleged point of this trip was to spend time conversing with Melody, both girls were extremely quiet most of the way from Charles Town to Shepherdstown, which would take about thirty minutes. A light dusting of snow covered the road, and from time to time, Delaney flicked the wipers on to clear the softly falling flakes.
