Chapter 16 Delaney hadn’t waited around the bakery to see how Joanna and Courtney interacted when they came in. By the time her usual departure time of 2:00 rolled around, she was ready to go. Edie said she’d stay and make sure the girls got settled in and call her if there were any problems, but she hadn’t called, and Delaney took that as a good sign, even though she was certain Edie wouldn’t have called her anyway unless there had been an actual fight on the shop floor of the bakery.
