Elizabeth’s POV: I refused to open my eyes. I didn’t dare look at Ashton while my hand held his in a death grip. I can’t believe he even offered it to me or that he remembered I hated takeoffs. We had only ever flown together a couple of times over the years. The fact that he not only remembered but also offered his hand had me feeling butterflies in my stomach. When I heard him whisper to me not to crush his bones, a wave of embarrassment washed over me, and I lessened my grip on his hand and continued pressing my eyes shut. I muttered a soft thank-you.
