Despite my nerves and worries, Luca made me relax, and I was in an almost trancelike state staring out onto the lake. It was the kind of view that would never tire. Changing the direction of the gaze seemed to change the view completely. There were a few small boats bopping about on the water, and I could see someone on a kayak a little south of where were. “Rylie.” I jumped.
