Lila’s POV The next morning, the entire house was filled with tension, waiting. I was sitting right on top of the kitchen counter, my bare legs swinging back and forth as I focused entirely on a big ceramic bowl of sugary cereal. I was just waiting to hear the front doors slam, which was the official signal that Vivienne was finally leaving for the airport.
