CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT HAZEL {MOMENTS AGO} Everywhere was dark, but I could hear screams. I had landed straight on my butt, but I'd felt no pain. High-pitched screams that seemed to pierce my ears, and threaten to burst my eardrums. Where in the world was I? Where did I end up? I swallowed, feeling blood coarse through my veins like ice. I was doomed. In real trouble. Rays of light began to tear the darkness apart, and I moved back, even though there wasn't much moving back would do. “She got in!” “We got ourselves someone that would stay.”
