Hawk's POV
I am not sure how Mato and I had been sitting in his office going through the papers the warriors brought back after getting two of the vampires on our list from Amber's sale file. I am.sure they will be a bit surprised to find out they are not in their lair. I wanted to be there when they woke up. "Sun is starting to set." I mention out loud. I see Mato put the papers down. Look out the window, I see him tilt back to see him check Amber too.
"Amber is asleep on the swing." He looked back at me.
I nodded and get up, " I will go see is she wants to sleep more." I walk out of his office and down the hall to the door of the back porch. Amber's chestnut hair is catching the setting sun and showing off its wide range of orange, varying reds and dusky hues. Her face is peaceful, breathing steady. Neither one of had been getting much sleep. Every time we cuddled it always turned into a night of passion and bodies touching. I couldn't get enough of her and it seemed the same could be said for her.
Stepping closer, I pile the books in a stack, saving the page that she was on. Grab her notes, to see that she had jotted down some things about Lyica.
"Hawk gets upset about Lyica find other places with more info."
The note said. I did get upset, I didn't mean to make her think I would not answer her questions. Though now I was sure she would have more. I would have to do better. At some point she would find out about my past before I became Caocodemon. But, right now, I needed time to suppress my biggest asset to my rage.
"Amber, Ma Cháñte," I whispered near her ear. I couldn't help it. I did nibble it some.
"Mmm," she stirred a little settling her head on my chest. I scooped her up and felt her melt into me. Another soft moan escaped her lips. I carried her upstairs to our room opening the door I found a king size bed in there. instead of the two double beds we had pushed together. I placed her on the side near the bathroom. Pulling a blanket over her, I kissed her forehead. She dis not even stir.
I walked down to the porch swing again, collecting all the books and notes. Taking them upstairs I placed them on her nightstand. She was still out. I could see that the sunset had set through our bedroom window. I checked the room one last time, then left the door open a crack.
"I am headed with Mato to the cells." I mentioned to Momma Dee. I seen her as we passed on the stairs.
"I will keep an ear out for her." She offered as she entered her room.
"Thank you," I kept going to Mato's office. At the door to the office, I noticed that Mato had stacked the papers and was looking out the window. "Thank you for the new bed." I said as I walked in.
"It will be a lot easier then what you two were sleeping on." Mato chuckled, turning around to add, "your welcome."
"Are we heading down to the extra guests?" I needed to change the subject, it was making feel off.
"I need to see the next group off for the night." Mato walked around the desk and down the hall to the front door.
On the drive way to the house sat a silver SUV. A group of 6 men and two women stood in clothes that looked uniform. Black and tailored perfectly to their bodies. weapons were placed in hidden pockets. I could see the small ends of them barely poking out.
"I want the vampire caught alive tonight. The witch if she is there as well. Make sure you bring paperwork and any books you find. Be safe and be smart." Mato voiced to all of them.
"Yes sir!" they chorused.
The speech was short sweet, loading into the SUV as they headed out on their mission. Mato turned back up the steps, "Lets go chat with the brats with fangs," he muttered.
"Your not a fan of Vampires?" I asked following behind him.
"Nope, was fed on by 4 for 5 days before Athens the head council found me with my dad in tow." You could hear a waiver in Mato's voice. "I never seen two be slaughter something so fast." Mato paused looking at me, "well until that day with the Judge and you." His lips tipped up but it didn't reach his eyes.
"You have nothing to fear from me." I shrugged. "In fact you helped me a lot with my mate." I smiled.
"Glad to hear it." I seen some tension drop but some remained. He walked down a staircase into the basement, from there we walked to a metal door with massive locks. unlocking the with an echoing click, he pulled the door open.
"I think I should ask," I mentioned. "I am immune to their glamour's."
"Good to know," Mato nodded. "Must be a blessing from Lilth."
"It was from before her," taking the lead down the dimly lit hallway. "She allowed me to keep it." I shrugged.
Both of us could smell the dank wet musky earth and the mix of blood and unwashed people. At the end of the row was a room, lined in silver, blessed earth and vampire blood ward. I opened the flap to see two vampires awake chained and pissed. Both of the looked at me and hissed showing their fangs.
"It looks like two pissed off kittens," I chuckled to Mato." Which did not make them any more happy. Their eyes glowed a pale orangish red. I knew who their original sire was, Velito. The amount of vampiric blood he had consumed had changed him. I opened the door. Their growling intensified. "I would stay there, one is trying to use glamour on me," I grunted before back handed him to bounce off the wall.
"Noted, stay on this side of the angry kitten door." Mato smirked.
"Alright my little ones," I mocked. "Who wants to tell me about a little girl you got from the lab?" I settled on the one who tried to glamour me.
"Who are you?" It snapped at me.
"I am Cacodemon," I stood and looked down at the one who was still against the wall were it landed in a pile of miffed vampire. I watched it eyes get big, glancing at the other who scooted back against the wall.
"W...Why a..are y..you assking?" It stuttered.
"I have a mission to do and I need information about her." I crossed my hands over my chest to glare. "Are you not going to tell me?" I raised a brow.
"We will tell you." The other one said slightly calmer. "Just don't kill us.
"Depends how good the info is." I shrugged looking to the first one.
"She was created for Velito our sire, we were conditioning her for his use." The one who I made a wall ornament spoke.
"Why was she created for him?" I continued the questions.
