Chapter 9 Rayna’s POV

I locked my car and made my way up the steps to the front doors of the old school brick building, as i walked down the hall towards my locker I said morning to couple of students and teachers, heard some of Amanda’s mean girl squad which was a mixture of shifters, fae and human making snide remarks at whoever deserved today when they clocked eye’s on me, Jenny Amanda’s “bestie” was the 2nd daughter of Alpha Gray of Lotus lake pack who was one of our allies and good friends with my dad, she had transfered to our school when her last school kicked her out for her behaviour 3 years ago, so her father thought it would be better if she came to a more diversed school in her first year she tried to be Queen B but that wasn’t meant to be and she rejected her mate who turned out to be human and humiliated him infront of the whole school, since that day he has bettered himself and has a really good job not that Jenny needed to know, she walked over in my direction ready to spit her venom out towards me these girls just never learn well a few of them did like Gwen and Alice certainly knew better as they were from Black Claw and knew that they would be punished during training later if they did anything, Rosa who was part fae and human definitely thought twice after i nearly broke her arm 3 months ago and then there was Melody who was part witch and fae was the shy quiet type no mean streak so you’d think she’d stay away from these girls but no and i still don’t understand why because when she wasn’t with them she was actually nice to talk and be around oh well. The rest of girls circled around me telling me the same things they always say to me like “god can you get any uglier” or “maybe if you lost a few pounds then maybe someone will want you” and my all time favourite “i bet your mate rejects you after seeing how disgusting you are” they laughed their high pitched nails down a chalk board laughs thinking their had got to me well maybe one comment did and you can probably guess which one I was so glad that today was my last day, i let the breath that i was holding out in a huge sigh and looked up at Jenny and the other fake twiglets in the eye “at least i’m not going to be held back another year as today is my last and i’ll be graduating early so your words that you constantly keep repeating at me is getting quite boring now” they all looked at me a bit stunned, i went to walk away but I was yanked back by my so hard that i nearly fell, i whipped round to see who had dared temp me today when i saw Maggie with a stupid smirk on her face she was half siren half human i feel for the soul who had bedded her mother, she pointed a finger at me and replied “you are just jealous that everyone prefers your sister and can’t compare to how beautiful and hot we are” in her shrill squeakie voice i tried to stifle a laugh but it just pissed them off Maggie went to slap me but i caught her hand in time i twisted and bent it backwards to the point of nearly break it and hearing a few gasps , i made her fall to the ground and gave her a low growl i went to walk again but turned and looked the all in the eye once more “in the words of judge Judy beauty fades dumb is forever” i looked at the huge clock to what the time was 8:55 i had 15 mintues to go hand my last assignment in.

I finally walked away and i passed Gwen and Alice I mind linked them “you both need to start making better choices, i’ll speak to you both properly at training later” they both replied “yes Miss Rayna” and i cut the link, I quickly walked down the hall to Ms Preachers classroom she was a werewolf, the best english teacher you could have would help those who appreciated and respected her kindness, she was also the one helping me with graduating early, her main job though was being part of the elders council for the Southern Kingdom.

I knocked on the door and waited for a response “come in” i opened the door bowed my head and smiled saying “morning Ms Preacher hope you are well I have that last assignment for you” she beamed at me clapping her hands together “morning Rayna i can’t wait to see what you have written” I handed her the book that i worked so hard on, Ms Preachers eyes lit up when she saw the title of the book ‘The Moon Goddess and her Children.’

Ms Preacher smiled up at me “I can tell this going to be a good read, i’ll do the usual checks as i know once you get going there might be a few mistakes but it won’t affect your grade” “thank you Ms Preacher i did my best to slow down and check what i was doing” i looked down at my hands feeling embarressed you see i have a learning disability called dyslexia, it isn’t unheard of that we werewolves could have learning disabilities, mental health and diseases yes werewolves can heal themselves pretty quickly depending on how bad the injury is like getting contact with wolfsbane or silver that can make the healing process take a bit longer and it is really painful, what we can’t heal from are the diseases that are life threatening (e.g cancer, dementia, strokes etc). “Rayna there is nothing to be embarressed about you are very bright and strong with what you are good at, look o have a friend who is a pubisher and has a few connections would mind if i gave it to her have a look and get her opinion” “umm sure i don’t mind” “excellent i’ll give it to her tonight and you’ll get to meet her tomorrow night as she is my plus 1 I have told her alot about you and she can’t wait to meet you” I was stunned that Ms Preacher knew someone like I would ask her more about this person but i had to get a move on to my last exam, l said my goodbyes and reminded her that gathering started at 7:30, she wished my luck and that she’d see me at the gathering.

As I walked to the exam room which was only 2 doors down giving me plenty of time to get there and get ready, my last exam was maths not my strongest suject but i managed, just before walking through the door to the exam room i grabbed my phone to put it on silent and noticed i had a text from Melody “need to talk meet you at your car after your exam.”
