Chapter 16 Kaiden’s POV

I couldn’t speak I was captivated in her beautiful eyes a deep saphire blue and I looked really close I could a hint green they were so mezmerizing, I winsed again in pain at the pain on head and my side I felt her tense up in worry trying to not let show on her face she moved a little away from me still on her knees bowing her head “please don’t bow to me you never have to bow to me” she lifted her head and I noticed a blush creep onto her cheeks I found it cute my head throbbed again and she came closer to me “my Prince please allow me to heal your head and side, you hit that tree pretty hard” I nodded to her giving premission she started with my head I felt a warm current spread across the area that in pain, for some reasons concussions take a bit longer to heal by ourselves i’m guessing it’s because the brain is delicate i’d have to do some reseach, once she was done she moved to my left side the same warmth flowed through I noticed her hands trembling I put my hand on hers to help try and calm her, I thought she would pull away but she didn’t which was a good thing I saw she had blushed again but could also see a small smile on her lips which made smile internally and Orion on his side purring. Once she was done I felt a whole lot better and less tired but before I could ask her anything she caught me off guard by leaning her back against my chest I was a shocked till she spoke “please forgive me, helping your healing and with my adrenaline starting to go down so starting to feel a bit tired” she lets out a huge sigh that’s when I could feel her body trembling and I did the only thing I could think of to do to help I put both my arms around her pulling her closer to my chest to keep her warm she tensed for just a second then relaxed, I place my chin on her shoulder close to her ear and taking in her scent “there is no need to apologize it’s not your fault, once you’ve calmed a bit then we can talk about certain things” I said in a calming tone, I faintly heard her say thank you and we sat there for what felt like an hour but it was only 5 minutes when checked my watch, I quickly mind linked Noah on how things were going and to confirm on how long I had been gone for, it had been about 12:50 when I went into the forest I had truely lost all sense of time because Noah had confirmed it was about 1:30pm and that training had stopped early as there had been an issue with one of Alpha Ethans sons, he had sent Mia and Brock to give a hand with anything and he was currently with Ryan, Peta and Zak in Ryan’s office I told him that was fine and I asked him to update me on things later and closed the mind link. I was about to say something when I heard the buzzing of a phone and Rayna shuffled forward to get it out of her pocket even though she hadn’t moved far I still felt a sense of emptiness and loneliness from the loss of her close presense, she turned with an apologetic look on her face “i’m sorry it’s the hospital I need to take this” I gave her a smile and a nod letting her know it’s fine, I saw she put it on loud speaker she probably did that knowing I would of heard the conversation anyway because of our werewolf hearing nothings really private unless you really weren’t interested but I was, wondering why they would be calling her. “Hi Ginny is everything ok” “Ms Rayna thank goodness we have Alpha Ethan shaw’s son Eli here and he’s really not looking good” “ok draw some bloods and let the lab know you need answers asap, do the usual checks and get back to me once you have the blood results back” she hung up the phone then let out a sigh and turned towards me looking into my eye’s with curiousity “so what did you want to talk about” she asked in a quiet shy tone, I was caught in her eye’s I didn’t know where to start and just asked the first thing that popped into my mind “why didn’t that pack member not just mind link you” she looked quite taken a back probably not thinking that would be the first thing I’d ask she then let out a small giggle that was so cute it made my heart melt “the woman on the phone was Ginny she is the second head doctor at the hospital and she is not a wolf she is human, her mate is one of the elite warriors who is half wolf and half fae, she also has a twin brother Reece who is also human and is the head nurse” she replied giving me answers to the other questions I had ready for her she was sharp and I loved it.

She told me that the pack was very diverse, that some of the pack members lived close in the human world and in the supernatural world depending on who their mates were, I loved how her eye’s light up while talking about her pack and its member she also told me that she would take me on a tour if there was time and I told her I would love that, I asked the typical questions like whats her favourite colour was which were a few like purple, blue and black, what she like to do for fun and hobbies she liked to sing, write and artwork as a hobbie but what for fun she found difficult to answer which was interesting so I didn’t push her to answer, she asked me the same questions I told her my colours were forest green and a silvery grey, I told her I liked to read, hiking and learning new things and for fun I said I would try and go to clubs or travel when I have time. I was about to ask her some really personal questions but her eyes had clouded over meaning someone was mind linking her, I started to tense up when her face started to get angry and once the cloud left her eyes they were filled with so much anger I felt fear rush through my body and it was unsettling, she quickly jumped to her feet making me do the same, looking up at me with anger and panic in her voice “we need to get to the hospital now.”
