Chapter 8 Rayna’s Pov

As we raced up the gravel drive checking behind us to make sure Amanda hadn’t shifted to give chase, we both started to relax when they confirmed she had given up and turned on some music as we made our up the long drive that would take us to 5 sandy dirt paths that go into the woods and take us into the human world of the United Kingdom (England), the First path took you anywhere to the West, the Second path to some parts of the North, the Third to the South and the Fourth to the East. The Fifth path that had a stone archway would take you the rest of the supernatural world where most werewolf packs resided in and had a few businesses, the other paths had the same stone archways but in the human world they would look like old abandoned entry ways with iron gates in the woods, all the archways are guarded the first four have wood nymphs guarding them the fifth one is guarded by whoever is on patrol, only those born of the supernatural can come through and no doubt Ryan would be having words with those who were on patrol early this morning plus those who guarded the gates.

As we drove onto the fourth sandy dirt path i looked over at Ivy and asked to grab the small paper bags that i had asked Ms Harper to prepare for me from my school bag, she did so not questioning what was inside them as we left gifts for them all the time ad a way of saying thanks for all their hard work. As we closer to the archway i stopped infront of an older looking oak tree where the siblings who guarded this path Nettle and Silky lived, got out the car placed the small bags at the bottom with a note to remind them that tonight and tomorrow were going to be busy and that they and the others would have to wait till Sunday for the next lot of gifts, i knocked twice on the tree to let know it was time to get up, as i got back into my car saw Nettle pop her head out of hole in the tree still looking sleepy i waved and pointed at the bags she looked down and put a thumbs up knowing that she’d hand them out to the others.

As we drove carefully through the archway just to make sure that we didn’t spook any human or animals, most animals weren’t bothered by us but not all humans knew or believed in the supernatural, the ones who did know were the ones we did business with, mated with or who are obsessed with finding us, humans who are mated to the supernatural must get permission so they can come visit our world.

As we drove through the country roads where the trees were changing their leaves from grean to yellow and orange which showed Autumn and Winter are on their way, the school that Ivy and I went to were just outside London and yes it was a school that had a mixture of supernatural and humans which is has always been 50/50 some think it’s a good thing for us to mingle with humans were others think it’s disgusting and impure. My father owns a few insurance comanies, real estate, hotels and a few banks the humans that played the part of the owners or boss are the ones who know who we are and are happy to play the roll and keep us always in the loop on things.

It was about 8:40 when we pulled up infront of the school and parked Ivy let out a groan turned to me giving me the puppy dog look, i looked over at her and said “that doesn’t work on me anymore so stop trying” while poking her in the head, she pushed my hand away, laughed as she got out of the car and told me she would see me later as she was helping her mum get a few extra things for the gathering which included my tailor made dress that her mum would keep hidden and ran towards her human friends.

Ivy was about my height, average body with a bit of muscle, dark brown eyes, she had recently shaved a part of her hair off on the right side and on the other side she cut it into a short half bob, her hair was black and she had dyed the tips red, on the shaved side of her head you could see all the piercings she had on her ear, she had just turned 17 a couple of months ago, she was part of my elite team and was in the running of taking over the Gamma position, Ivy is sweet bubbly girl who would always looks out for other as long as you stayed on her good side but if someone treated her or others like s**t she can be really petty and could put you on your ass if you tried to get physically aggressive with her. Ivy didn’t have a great start in life she originally came from Cresent Moon pack and they don’t have the best reputation they treated their omegas worse than slaves, the warriors were sloppy brutes, they believed a womans places was at home and the males could do whatever they wanted with them, they saw everyone who wasn’t a pack member as an enemy even if you were their allies and the Alpha and his family were entilted pigs thank god Ryan will be breaking that alliance. Ivy hasn’t really told us everything just bits and pieces i just know that she was beaten really badly by her birth parents and that they were addicts, she was taken away from them when she was about 8years old when my father and Gamma Edward went for a visit, Gamma Edwards felt like he had to protect her and she felt safe with him her parents truly didn’t care what happens with Ivy, the moment she came to Black Claw both Edward and his wife Lana fell in love with her and Ivy fell for them, as they were not blessed with their own children my father agreed to the adoption, Ashlynn, Lacey and I also became very protective of her and we became her family as well.
