Chapter 12 Kaiden’s POV

“Hey Kai you better start to wake up we’ll be at the Black Claw portal in about 5 minutes” I groaned at his words I had been struggling to sleep the last couple days since Noah had that phone call from Black Claws acting Luna Rayna I couldn’t get her voice out of my head the more she spoke I felt strangely comfortable with this person who i’ve never met, I did ask Noah what she and her family are like he didn’t give too much away about Rayna just that she was different than any other she wolf and Alpha’s daughter, he did tell me that her family dynamic was complicated and that her pack was really strong thanks to her father and her uncle on her mothers side but he had information on her mothers family.

I slapped both sides of my face to wake up as I had been up since 5:30 and decided to go to my office at about 6 and started catching up on paper work but it just didn’t seem to make sense it felt like the reports were missing crucial information and the accounts as Noah and my Gamma Miles couldn’t figure it out either and it was giving me headache, “aahhhh is there really nothing else you can tell me about this Rayna girl” seeing his stupid smirk in the rear view mirror “NoPe” popping the p, I gave him a death glare and he just laughed at me, only him Miles and possibly my fated mate would get away with acting this way with me disregarding rank “the only thing I will say is be careful around her sister and stepmum they can be very manipulative and the way they speak about Rayna really gets under the skin, i’m surprised she hasn’t done real harm to them yet” I didn’t ask him about the matter as I knew he wanted me to keep an open mind but what he just said did pique my interest.

As we made our way through woods Noah was keeping watch to make sure nothing and no one saw going through the packs Easten gate entrance, once through we were stopped by two Nymphs who Noah knows by name “Nettle Silky how are two favourites Nymphs doing” “we’re doing good thank you Noah i’m gussing you have an invitation for your group” “of course Nettle here you are and might I say you and your sister are looking more beautiful today” after Noah had said that I noticed the shy one silky start blushing and the bolder one Nettle flew in the car, gave Noah a kiss on the nose and gave me a wink. They finally let us through with no problem “that bold one seems quite fond you guessing there’s a story behind that” giving him a curious look “not really she likes that I don’t take peoples bullshit and that my bluntness and named me one of her favourites” when we finally drove out of the forest onto a sandy dirt path I was in awe when I saw the vast beauty of the Black Claw pack lands first could see the pack house, then from my left in the distance were a few hills where you could see what looked liked homes, shops and probably a farm or two making it a nice little village, then to back of the pack you could something shimmering some sort pond or maybe even a lake but what really caught my eye were the mountains way way in the distance which almost touched the clouds and could see how they got their name Black Claw as they really did look like a pair of claws ripping out of the earth and the surrounding forest just made it more stunning and made me wonder how big the pack lands actually were.

While I was taking in everything Noah’s stupid voice interrupted my moment of peace “ah yes we’ve managed to get here in time for them to start doing training, I wonder what they’ll be doing today after their warm up” I looked to my right towards where Noah excitedly was glancing at and I saw huge outdoor training area, a large dark grey building that must of been the indoor training area and then the large white building that was next to the other building must be the pack hospital, as we got closer I saw a few warriors doing laps who were being shouted by Peta the future beta who i’ve met a couple of times he was nice but could be ruthless when needed, I looked of at the two groups one group was being supervised by a slim girl who looked a bit like Peta she must be he’s sister that i’ve heard is a bit chaotic in a good way she was watching them doing defensive moves and correcting them when needed, in the other group there must of been about 20 of them gathered in a semi circle with a tall average tone guy looking down at a short girl who was a little big but I could definitely tell that she had curves in the right places that I liked, her silvery hair tied in a loose high ponytail i’m sure made her eyes pop and from what I could see she was giving the guy a death glare, the way that he was glaring back at her strangely made my blood boil Noah must of sensed how I was feeling and stopped the car allowing to roll down my window half way, what happened next slightly turned me on as she turned to walk away the tall guy lunged towards her ready to give her a punch but she was quicker giving him roundhouse kick making him stumble and stunned for a moment, she then punched him in the stomach which winded him and finishing the fight with a right upper cut and in that moment I was very proud, amazed and had a really bad hard on I was so confused my body and feelings have never reacted this way before for a warrior shewolf ever but that girl was not just a warrior rank she had a much more powerful aura but I couldn’t tell what though, “wow Rayna really showed him remind me not to get on her bad side” I tensed up at Noah’s words that feisty little shewolf was Rayna the acting Luna, the Rayna that I haven’t been able to get out of my mind, while I was in my own thoughts when the wind must of changed direction because the most intoxicating scent of Raspberries and fresh rainfall hit me that I closed my eyes to take it all in, as I opened my eyes I saw her looking over at us praying she was looking at me, Noah decided that would be the moment to start moving the car again I was a little annoyed but we had to get to the pack house and meet Ryan the future Alpha, I closed my window and sat back in my seat and let out a huge sigh Noah looked at my again through the rear view “you ok Kai” I didn’t really give him an answer as I only had one word going through my mind ‘Mate’.
