Yala Smith’s POV
Veronica and I said goodbye and I left for home. I endeavored to calm my nerves before arriving at the mansion so as not to break the news to my father impulsively.
When I arrived, I found him in the living room reading a book, with Penny sprawled out on the sofa beside him. As soon as my eyes met his, a huge smile spread across his face.
"My daughter, you're home early," he said in surprise.
"Meow," Penny saw me and quickly came running in my direction.
"You were lying down with Grandpa," I said, smiling at her.
"Meow," she meowed.
"She likes to stay with Grandpa. Now tell me, what brings you home so early? You usually come home at night," he asked curiously.
I nodded.
"Yes, I wanted to have coffee with you," I replied.
