I increased the speed of the motorcycle, climbing a steep incline that led me to the other side of the mountain. Charles was an arm's length behind me, but I knew that if I slowed down for even a second, he would overtake me, just as he had been trying to do all along. Up until now, his attempts had been unsuccessful.
I was genuinely surprised at how well he rode a motorcycle. We were speeding at around two hundred and twenty kilometers per hour, revving the engines without a care in the world or about our surroundings.
