Soon after the death of the farmer, Harris, Richard took to exploring the entirety of the Keep. By the time he was ten, he was familiar with the entire structure, including the dungeons that hadn’t been used in years. The servants told him that they’d been built in times past, to hold evil and vile creatures that roamed the land in days of old, but Richard suspected it was all for show. Indeed, cells were present, but he doubted they’d ever held much, other than men.
Bodden had been built during the northern expansion of Merceria with the intended purpose of denying access to the Norlanders. As such, it had proven remarkably efficient, and since its construction, not a single Norlander had managed a successful invasion into this part of the realm.
