MORGAN CLOSED HER EYES just for a moment, but it was long enough for Meredith to disappear. She wondered if her aunt had ever really been there because there was no reaction from the others in the room. But then Morgan remembered the warning, and she had a feeling Meredith meant the message for only her.
Her aunt wanted her to be at the beach house. Something was happening, and she forced herself to shake off the grogginess. Sitting straight up in the chair, she moved her feet off the footstool, catching the attention of the others. Mrs. Wright fussed, but the doctor intervened.
