"You didn"t have to walk me home," Rosie insisted, though she secretly enjoyed that he"d brought her all this way.
"It"s the right thing to do," he pointed out. "It"s growing dark already."
She laughed lightly. "I don"t think it"s a case of already. I think we"ve just lost track of time."
"It"s easy to do when the company is as good as it"s been today."
She felt the blush that rose to her cheeks. She wished she could chase it away as it would clash horribly with her hair. But he was just so charming.
"The company has been decent," she observed. "Perhaps we should do this again?" It wasn"t like her to feel so confident about something, but he was setting her at ease in a way she hadn"t quite experienced before.
