Will settled Dearne in his bed, and between them they undressed him and wrestled him back into the nightshirt. The fact he didn’t protest told Will a lot, so he made sure he was comfortable and not about to bleed to death and then went and threw more wood on the fire. The rabbit stew was getting a bit low so he went to the outhouse and brought in some potatoes, peeled them, and threw them in. It was probably more stew than rabbit by now but it would do. It did mean he needed to go and check his traps. There was little else until he took a trip into the village, but it hardly seemed worth it given he would be gone in a few days.
