Mason knew the bed would be empty when he woke up, but it didn’t stop the hurt from rustling through him. Deep down in a little spot inside, he’d held hope Noah would still be there, wrapped in his arms. When Mason had woken up in the middle of the night, Noah had lain with his arms outstretched and his leg draped over Mason’s. Mason couldn’t help but stare at Noah’s peaceful expression. The moment felt perfect.
Regardless of how right they felt together, Mason needed to accept it’d never be more than s*x. Hell, Noah had admitted he’d never been with anyone more than once.
