/Elizabeth POV After being summoned home via mind link from my mother she announced to me and my sister to be on our best behavior because a noble wolf was visiting our pack. And that my mother would not hesitate to cut ties with either of us if we made a fool of ourselves in front of the esteemed guests. My mother was the delta of our pack a strong and fierce warrior who grew up the current alpha and was her right-hand woman. To her appearance was everything, her children needed to have the best grades best clothing education connections the whole shebang. which is why it wasn’t surprising she wasn’t the biggest fan of my older sister’s s****l escapades. And favored me more over her which only created a bigger tension between us. My father on the other hand was just happy to be mated to someone as amazing as my mother. Though as much as my sister was excited about the newcomer all I could think of was that woman I met in the forest and those ruby red eyes. Weirdly I felt drawn to her and the more I thought of her the more mad I was becoming. So the next day after breakfast I grabbed my violin and headed out trying to move swiftly but at the same time inconspicuously so no one would get curious as to where I was off to so early in the morning. Making it close to the clearing I started to feel a warm tingly sensation which was strange because it was quite a chilly day being in December and all. Where the moonhound pack was located it never snowed and would simply just get stupidly cold but not cold enough for snow to form. So the random warm feeling was strange or maybe it was just my body playing a trick on me. Arriving at the clearing I saw what looked to be the back of a woman with silky black hair and was dressed in a white frilled shirt with sleek black pants and heels. “I know you're there I could hear your arrival.” Said the woman matching the voice from yesterday. “It’s you so you’re not an illusion,” I spoke softly while stepping into the clearing. “Illusion?” She turned around to face me and the first thing I saw was those red eyes “Why would I be an illusion.” “Well you had poofed out of existence so I ruled it out as a trick from my mind.” I explained to the lady stepping closer to her “Well as you can tell I am no illusion dearest.” Hearing her call me dearest a blush crept onto my face. “Wait but then how were you able to disappear like that are you a magician or something.” A chuckle came from the raven-haired woman “A magician how preposterous.” She said with a haughty smile. And I felt a tad embarrassed. How could she be a magician after all magic doesn’t exist. “I’d rather you call me a sorcerer.” Said the woman catching me off guard. Suddenly she snapped and my body began to feel weighted and I started floating My arms and legs flailed around frantically as I tried to force myself back down to the ground where I belonged only to make myself spin around making me nauseous. “Calm down your acting as if you’re drowning.” Said the woman calmly but it didn’t help me. “How do I stop rolling.” “Here let me help you.” Feeling something grab my arm followed by me crashing into something I groaned. My brain was spinning in my head and I felt ready to hurl. But then the smell of magnolia with a hint of dew and paprika hit my nose curing me of my nausea. “See it’s not so bad.” Feeling a slight vibration on my face I opened my eyes and saw that my face was on a chest of sorts. Realizing where I was I pulled my head out of her chest and pushed her away. “Sorry uhm thank you for helping me can you put me down now,” I said trying to keep myself from falling. “Alright then.” The lady snapped her finger and my body felt heavy again and sank to the floor landing roughly on my back. I was gonna feel that tomorrow. Slowly I stood up groaning rubbing my back “So you’re a magician I mean sorcerer correct.” I asked the woman who was still floating reclined on her back “Got that right.” Said the lady as she rolled over to her side “And you can talk to animals.” She pointed at me. “Uhm n-no,” I said hesitantly I didn’t even question the thought that she might’ve seen me talking to forest critters. “Don’t worry you don’t have to lie to me I’m not gonna persecute you.” She began floating towards me “And you have the aura of the arcane user.” Arcane user what’s arcane and how am I using it? “Arcane?” The woman stopped levitating landing on her two feet slowly. “Arcane is what you could call magic but it is far more sophisticated and more about manipulating nature and the elements that surround you. Then performing nonsensical feats like pulling a rabbit out of a hat.” The woman then lifts her hands and a shiny red and black ball that seems like it’s on fire appears. “There are four sectors, nature, animal, elemental, and astral. I belong to the elemental sector and it gives me dominion to control and alternate things that are made of elements.” The woman explained. “Which one do I belong to.” I asked interested in this whole arcane thing “Well seeing as how you can talk to animals it’s safe to say you belong to the animal sector. Your powers allow you to converse with all animals, control, and if you train hard enough turn into them.” I gasped “So I’d be able to turn into more than just my wolf when I get her.” The lady nodded her head “That’s correct.” Immediately the thought of being able to go from a wolf to a horse and then maybe a bird was amazing. “Well, it seems as if it’s time to take my leave.” Said the lady walking away from me “Wait how am I supposed to learn how to use my arcane powers.” “Don’t worry I’ll teach you but until next time.” A cloud of smoke erupted and the woman disappeared again. Staring at the smoke a smile tugged at my lips. I can do magic. I looked down at my hands and tried to make the balls form just like she did but to no avail. That’s all right I’m sure I’ll learn with time.
