Chương 5

"Tonight you will sleep outside! Tomorrow morning you had better disappear from me!" Tùng pointed to the corner of the house, near the fridge, with a toilet brush. The guy leaned against the wall, looking down at the ground, soaked through, blood from his toe had stopped flowing. Tùng was using a pink towel to dry his hair. He glanced at the guy's drenched appearance and then gently placed the towel on the table near where he was sitting. "Do you have any cigarettes?" Tùng was surprised to hear Tú speak, then quickly walked to the kitchen. When Tùng returned, Tú was still looking down at the ground, holding out his hand to receive the cigarettes. But what was dropped into his hand was not cigarettes, it was a medical bandage, with a "Happy Sheep and Grey Wolf" sticker. Tú grimaced, dropped the bandage on the floor, leaned back, and sighed in frustration. Tùng observed the guy's every move. He asked, "Are you running from debt?" Tú didn't say anything. Tùng asked again, "Or did you get caught by the police for drugs?" The guy's cold expression didn't change at all. It was still raining outside. Tùng laid a thin blanket on the chair and went back to the bedroom. That's when Tú finally spoke up: "I've been dumped." Man, seriously? Tùng almost burst out laughing. Getting dumped and acting all tough like this? Tùng tried to keep a straight face and closed the bedroom door. Tú's voice echoed: "Have a good night." "No need. Tomorrow morning, you better disappear for me!" Tùng replied, pursing his lips, and carefully locked the bedroom door. As he lay down, Tùng felt both worried and sorry. Worried because, after all, he was a stranger, and Tùng didn't know him. But sorry because he was drenched like a rat, and didn't have any other clothes to change into. How could someone end up in this situation? Wait a minute? Well, letting him sleep for a night is already quite generous! Tùng happily acknowledged his kindness and his charitable nature, and then turned to hug his pillow and sleep. It was still raining outside. In this weather, having a warm pillow to hug must be nice, right? Outside, the guy was still sitting in a corner. The light bulb swayed above. Now, he finally had time to take a look around the room. The room had deteriorated with many old and worn-out items, a far cry from his luxurious lifestyle over the past two years. Tú tossed his damp coat aside and grabbed the pink towel on the table to dry his hair. Instinctively, he took the towel to his nose to smell it. Then he opened the fridge, which only had a few bottles of cold water and some scallions, and nothing else to eat. He grabbed a bottle of water and drank it. Earlier, he saw Tùng pretending to tidy up, then quickly grabbed all the food from the fridge and hid it in his room. There was a box of pork, a few half-eaten snacks, and some apples. While drinking water, he burst into laughter, almost choking. Oh man, why hide the food in the room? He just wanted to get a cold drink from the fridge. At 6 am, Tùng lay sprawled on the bed, arms and legs spread out. He rolled around a few times before hugging his familiar pillow tightly. Last night, he dreamt that he had come home from work and found a man rummaging through his stuff. The terrifying part was that the guy was only wearing boxers with some gruesome tattoos all over his body. Then he dreamt that it started raining, and he tried to chase the guy away, but the guy tripped and fell, injuring his toe. Finally, Tùng let the guy stay the night at his place. "Man, what a ridiculous dream!" Tùng chuckled and drank a glass of water before getting out of bed. It was a scientific habit that Tùng tried to maintain. However, as he stepped out of the bedroom, he almost dropped the glass of water. In front of him, a man was curled up in a blanket, sleeping on the floor. "Huh?" Tùng rubbed his eyes and stood there dumbfounded. Wait, this is real, not a dream, right? After nearly ten minutes of "loading" and the brain "lagging", Tùng was shocked when he remembered everything. He boldly walked toward the guy lying on the floor: "Get up! Get lost, quick! It's hot, and you're still wrapped up in that blanket! Are you crazy or something?" The other person didn't respond. Tùng angrily sat down next to the guy: "Get up! If not, I'll pour toilet water on your head! ... Huh?" Tùng was surprised to see the guy lying on the floor, shivering and sweating profusely. Without thinking, Tùng touched his forehead and felt the heat. Then Tùng remembered the moment when the guy borrowed his towel, and sat huddled in the dark corner of the courtyard yesterday. And when he staggered out into the pouring rain. Being out in the rain all day, how could he not be sick? Tùng felt awkward. He didn't want this man in his house for another minute. But he was so sick, would it be considered bad karma to kick him out? "Hey! Can you get up? I have to go to school this morning!" Tùng carefully observed the guy's reaction. The guy opened his eyes, looked around, and tried to get up, but within three seconds, he collapsed, his whole body as limp as a noodle. Tùng frowned: "Call your family or friends! I'll ask them to come and pick you up. You can't keep bothering me like this!" The guy didn't respond. Tùng got annoyed: "Are you deaf? Are you that tired?" "I...I have no one..." Suddenly, he muttered, leaving Tùng stunned. "I have no one?" What did he mean by that? He tried to get up again but couldn't stand for long, quickly collapsing under the blue blanket with the "Happy Sheep and Grey Wolf" pattern. "Lock the door... let me sleep until noon, and then I'll leave when you come back. Is that... okay?" Before he could finish the sentence, he fell silent, just mumbling his lips. Tùng's face was filled with hesitation. Let a stranger stay in the house? What if something happened to him, would Tùng be legally responsible? Not to mention he borrowed Tùng's towel and used the fridge and gas stove. What if...? It was almost 7 o'clock, time for the first period at school. Tùng paced around the house, feeling completely stuck. The guy coughed and then continued muttering: "Don't worry... I won't eat your pork." Oh god! Tùng looked at him in shock. "How shameless and sly!" After making sure his money, phone, charger, earphones, mini shower gel, shampoo, laundry detergent, toothpaste, water bottle, bathroom slippers, clothespins... basically, everything that could be stolen was in his backpack, Tùng finally locked the door and reluctantly went to school. Today, he would get rid of that man from his life!
