"Miss! Isilee!" a guard bursts through my bedroom doors frantically "There are intruders, you must come-" loud shouting, growling and crashing sounds from down the corridor making his head look back "Go and help them! I'll lock us in here - quick go!" he looks conflicted with my order before he removes a dagger from his leg holster "Take this, just in case"
With one last look he runs out, immediately I shut the door bolting it locked. I smooth down my dress as i gather myself and quickly breathe out "Stay calm" I tell myself before I get Alaric out of his crib and put him in his little Moses basket carefully so he doesn't stir awake from his nap - at least he's asleep and quiet.
