Chapter 2

*smut alert* Luca pulled her closer and leaned in to capture her lips. Penelope hitched her breath as she grabbed onto the closest surface, her eyes wide open with surprise. The feeling of his moist, soft lips sent currents along her skin, tangling her stomach in a tight knot. Her mind was drunk on the liquor, a bit of the music… And of him. She wasn’t sure how to react. Her heart was beating in her chest, every inch of her urged her to pull back and laugh it off as a joke, but her intoxicated mind wanted to hold on. It wanted more. Luca gave her no time to register; he was not sane either, but it didn’t stop him from devouring her, moving his lips against hers, asking for permission to let him in. Luca’s persistent pattern and firm hold on her waist silenced the world around her. For this brief moment, there was only them, lustfully devouring each other. His hands traced her frame, and when his fingertips touched her bare skin, it sent shockwaves along her spine, and her lower stomach throbbed with a need A need for him… This mysterious man, who was kissing her with such passion that it rocked her world. She gave in, her body relaxed in his hands. Luca felt her trembling, frail frame in his hold; it gave him confidence to pull her closer. Penelope stumbled down her chair, and he led her in between his legs with his hands tracing circles on her hips. The distance between them was non-existent as he leaned onto her, feeling her delicate frame press against his wide, solid chest. Penelope parted her lips to gasp for air, Luca took the chance and slipped his tongue inside, tasting every bit of her. Penelope shuddered in surprise. She held her arms to wrap them around his neck, deepening the kiss to an impossible degree. Once they were both gasping for air, they pulled back. Their lips red and swollen from the kiss, their eyes locked gaze. Penelope once again felt captivated by his mismatched eyes, and her hands slowly crept up to touch his face. She saw Luca flinch as her fingertips brushed over his jaw, but only for a moment, and his shoulders slumped down defenseless. She took her cue and kept tracing his features. The sharpness of his cheekbones. The small wrinkle in the corner of his eyes. The way his lashes were impossibly dark, casting a gentle shadow into his blue-black eyes. Penelope knew that she had lost her sanity when she allowed her fingertips to explore them. The last thread of reality was severed. “Beautiful,” said Penelope, tilting her head to the side as her red locks fell across her flushed face. Luca let out a sharp breath, reaching out to tug the locks of scarlet hair behind her ears. He watched as she intently carved his picture into her mind–the man she had just met and would soon forget when she was sober. Penelope leaned closer, pressing herself onto his solid frame, and captured his lips again. It was innocent and sloppy. But it was all that was needed for Luca to snap. He broke the kiss as he got to his feet, towering over her messed-up state. She stared at him in confusion with her deep-green orbs, intoxicated from the kiss and the alcohol. Luca held her hand gently, his eyes wondered how someone’s hand could be so small. “Come with me,” said Luca, holding his head up to see her reaction. “For tonight.” Penelope might be drunk, but she knew it was an invitation to creep into his bed. She should’ve instantly refused–if she were sober, that is. She nodded. Luca led her up the stairs and into the hotel lobby. The bright lights from the chandelier were blinding, and her vision was a blur. She couldn’t keep up with what was happening or where he was taking her. The last thing she remembered was the elevator where he kissed her again, pressing her against the mirror hanging on the polished wooden wall. She was thankful that she didn’t see her messed-up reflection. Luca led her into a hallway, dragging her into a room and slamming the door behind her. He turned to face her slowly as she stood in her tank top and disheveled hair. The warm light from the spotlight above shimmered on her scarlet locks, her skin turning a soft shade of peach. He took a deep breath. “If you want to leave, this is your chance, Sweetheart.” The nickname sent another wave of arousal over Penelope. She had to leave and apologize for this mistake. But, she wanted to stay… “I want to–” Penelope didn’t realize she said that out loud until she was swept off her feet. Luca carried her swiftly as if she were a feather, crossing her legs over his torso securely. “I warned you,” he muttered, his voice a low growl as his lips brushed over the delicate skin on her neck. There was nothing rational about what happened next. It was passionate and hot. Despite his rough edge, Luca was gentle when he touched her, when he kissed her. He walked with her in his arms, never taking his eyes off as they reached the bed, he carefully set her down and followed her, positioning himself between her legs. Penelope felt his crotch pressing against her; she saw what she was doing to this man. She was happy, like any woman should. Seeing a man treating you like you're the only one he sees. He was watching her again, as if he were diving into her soul. She held her head up to place a small peck on his lips. Luca chuckled, his chest vibrating as he did. “So brave now are we?” he whispered, leaning down to trace the exposed skin on her shoulders, leaving a hot trail in his path. The night was long as they explored each other, learning each other’s deepest sweet spots. Penelope was fully exposed by the time Luca unbuckled his belt. He was beautiful, towering over her, his skin soft under her touch. She traced the outline of his abs softly. “You are driving me crazy,” he whispered, leaning down, his hands unzipping his pants. Penelope gasped, feeling him against her wetness. Her cheeks turned a deep shade of red, and she covered her face in embarrassment. Luca kissed her hands, rubbing himself against her, and slowly removed her hands. Penelope’s eyes were red, rimmed with pleasure and embarrassment. “Don’t hide from me,” he said, his lips moving on the palm of her hands, leaving a wet trail behind them. And he swiftly took her. Penelope let out a moan, her eyes widened, feeling him inside her, big. He filled her up. Luca let out a groan, his brows frowning as he shuddered. Penelope was lightheaded, barely aware of her surroundings. All she was aware of was Luca’s weight against her, the warmth of his skin over hers. His teeth sinking into the soft skin on her neck– That was going to leave a mark, she thought, her mind drugged with his scent. It was musk mixed with alcohol. And– The metallic taste of blood…? “Uh, uh,” he whispered, watching her eyes getting drowsy. “Don’t let your mind go elsewhere. Focus on me, we have got one night to spend.” She stared up at him, disappointed at the reminder that they had only got tonight. Luca noticed her troubled eyes and leaned down to kiss her eyelids, wet with tears of pleasure against his lips. “The night is long, Sweetheart.”
