The Fabled Kahuna

"She did teach me a few thing to take care of George," Connor walks up taking few bottles he familiar with then mixing them up according to what Mewdonis instructed him before. Connor carefully cleans the wound with the mixture. Then everyone waited, while Luna convey what has happened to Connor and George.

It took a long time before Mewdonis gained her consciousness again. She whispered in great effort, "Not bad kid, you learn fast. *Cough*" Everyone gathered around her. "How are you?" Luna ask attentively. "Better now with you around," Mewdonis smiled. "You're hurt badly, anything that we can do to help?" Nolan speak caringly.

"You're not being mean, it scares me to death, *cough*" Mewdonis slightly mocked Nolan. "Quit joking and tell us what we can do," Luna gently tapped her elbow. Silence filled the room before Mewdonis starts speaking again, "Velocious inflicted wound cannot be healed, like a poison but slow." Luna clasp her mouth, everyone's expression turned grim. "I'll slowly turned velocious zombiefied Mewdonis, rawr, or jut died" Mewdonis try to laugh her way out of this. But nobody felt humored by it, everyone is downhearted.

Mewdonis try to think of a way to distract them, then suddenly remembered, "Nolan, I thought Mamosa wanted you to meet someone. You better go, time won't be taking on our side." Nolan stared blankly at Mewdonis for few moments. She got uneasy and urge, "Com'on don't go goo goo gaga on me now. Get ready and go."

"Time is not taking our side, but maybe chances will. We'll go to Mr Quez right this instant!" Nolan said excitedly. "That's the spirit! Go now, I can finally have a peaceful rest alone!" Mewdonis clapped lying down on the bed. "You're coming too," Nolan instructed. "What?" Mewdonis baffled by Nolan's instruction.

"I almost forgot that Mr. Quez is the great master in herbs studies. He's the fabled Kahuna in whole Cathopia!" Nolan smiled then urge everyone, "Get packing everyone, we're going to Mr. Quez." Everyone was delighted by Nolan statement, so they got ready and set out.

Upon reaching Mr. Quez's residence, which made of a fe tall cylinder building in the middle of wheat field. Each building has bridges the connect among them. It has systematic windows, door and porch lining up weirdly but elegantly on each of the building. It has the common spiral planks of Cathopian houses, but was crafted in an elegant architecture art.

"Moon, you're here," Quez speak as he tread off from the spiral plank from the main building. "Help," Nolan requests politely as he showed Mewdonis to Quez in his arms. Quez slightly shocked at her right arm wounded, "Come, quickly!" They all followed Quez to another building.

"Here, lay her down." Quez gestured at Nolan to lay Mewdonis on the surgery table he had in his medicine room. "Wait outside," Quez ordered. So all of them went out of the room. Now they're outside living room, feeling uneasy and anxious about Mewdonis condition.

Nolan notice Luna is very nervous, he felt sorry for her after everything she gone through. Nolan could understand all this has not been easy on Luna. He tried to calm her by placing his hand on her shoulder, "She's going to be fine." Luna slapped his hand away,"Yeah, says the one who got my parents killed."

Nolan is taken aback by that remark, then he downcast his eyes feeling responsible for her parents death too. "Luna, I--" Nolan sentence is cut off. "Here I am feeling grateful and thankful for your help, when you are the reason my parents died," Luna sniffle resentfully at the ground. George watched on in sombre manner. While Connor stayed silent. Nolan approached Luna, but Luna stopped him,"Stay away from me, I want to be alone." Luna went out of the door, while Nolan looked on wistfully at Luna leaving.

Quez came out from the room with bleak expression. George asked, "How was it?" Quez shakes his head, "One who touched Velocious could die from it, let alone a deep cut. The medicine I have may temporarily neutralize it, but it won't heal her." Connor slowly approach Quez, "Does that mean, she'll not make it?" Quez heaved a heavy sigh. Everyone was dejected by the news. "I'll deliver the news to Luna," Connor dragged his feet off to look for Luna.

.:Luna POV:.

I sniffled on my way out of the door. I walked up the spiral plank till I'm on the roof. I sat down, drawing in knees near to my face. I weep thinking of the deaths of people I care. I hated myself for being so powerless even after I've got my power. I couldn't even bring myself to save Mamosa. What am I?

Tears streamed down my cheeks. To even found out about Nolan as Moon? I am not sure what to think or feel anymore. Grateful, thankful that he has been through everything with me? No, my parents death is because of him.

I clasp my head in my both my palms. It hurts, my brain, my emotion, everything got tangled up. I want to give up. I want this to be only a dream. When I'm awake, everyone will still be with me. Oh, how I wish everything is just a dream. *sob*

I felt someone sat down beside me. I have no intention of lifting my crying face up. "Things may not always goes the way we wanted, but it'll fall into place. Making you to become who you are today," Connor speaks. "You know what Les Brown would say? If you are going through hard times, it has not come to stay, it has come to pass!" Connor pump a fist into air. Often times, he's into some motivational speaker, especially Les Brown.

What Connor just said might be right, this is only a period of rough time. It'll pass. Everything will fall into place. I mustn't give up now. I've got Venus to take care of. So I could really make use of my power to protect people I cared about and find out what really happens to my parent. I took a deep reluctant breath, since Nolan is Moon, I can finally knows what really happens to my parents. I wiped off my tears.

"Looks like my girl just got her senses back," Connor smiled and tapped on my arms. I give him a hug and so does he. "Look, It's not a good time, but I've got some bad news," Connor said in downhearted tone. I tensed up. What now? Connor hugs me tighter, "Mr. Quez thinks, Mewdonis might not make it."

Again, my chippy heart shrink. I am choking up my tears. I may not met her for long, but she's always and genuinely care for me. We've been through some time together, and to hear that she wasn't going to make it just breaks my heart. I buried my face in Connor's arm.

.:Author POV:.

Nolan then, gloomily handed out the grimoire to Quez,"Mamosa said you'll know what to do ." Quez steadily took the book from Nolan, "Mamosa gave this? Where is he?" Nolan hold his tears back and answered,"Venus invaded the monastery. He's too strong, so Mamosa..." Nolan stopped talking. He is fighting hard to keep the tears in by gulping it down his throat.

"So, this is what he meant when he said his time is coming," Quez speak in sombre manner. "To think that it comes down to this, Venus must have grown very strong," Quez took a deep breath, he nodded deliberately. "I'll take a look at this grimoire tonight. You all should rest. Dinner will be brought to each of your room." Then Quez stepped off into his study room with the grimoire.

"Where do you think they'll go after the life in Cathonion?" Nolan asks rhetorically. George looks on in sorrow, he thinks of Peter, "Where ever it is, I hope its a great place to be." A single tear fell from the Corner of Nolan's eye. He said nothing more and walks towards his room.

Tonight, everyone daze off with heavy heart. They its difficult to drift into a good night sleep with what happened.

The next morning, someone knocked hard on Nolan's door, waking him up when he was just about to drift into sleep. "Wakey, Wake up!" that familiar voice made Nolan jolted up to open the door. True enough, Mewdonis is standing there smiling, "Wow, you've never look so happy seeing me." Nolan grinned like a Cheshire cat, glad to see her looking fine.

Everyone soon came out of their room. Luna's eye widen, she rushes to hug Mewdonis, "I thought we've lost you!" Luna starting weeping. Mewdonis reassuringly hugs Luna, "Silly girl, you'd think I ever leave beautiful girl like you? No way!" George step forward, "Glad to see you up and running."

Connor walks up excitedly, "Does that mean Quez have finally found a way to cure you?" Just then, Quez stepped out of his room, he looks baffled when he saw Mewdonis standing in front of him, "impawsible!" Mewdonis grinned, "I know, I couldn't believe it myself either!"

Still puzzled, Quez circled around Mewdonis perturb by this strange condition, "My herbs...are working?" Mewdonis gleefully reply, "Well not entirely, but maybe you should give me some more so I heal even quickly." Nolan grip on Mewdonis' shoulder, "We're just pleased that you're okay." Mewdonis smiled back then waves her hand around, "Enough of this cheesy stuff, don't we got things to do? Like, the grimoire?"

Quez snapped out of his puzzling thought, took the grimoire and place it on the table in the middle of the living room. "It seems that power stone can actually merged together to form power so great that even a mythic stone holder could't summoned. However, only selected power stone can do that. Not just any stone, it has to mythic ones. Selected ones of course." Quez is peeking through his glasses at the grimoire.

"Mamosa mentioned something about unprecedented fate," Nolan is reminded of what Mamosa said previously. "Unprecedented indeed, tho its mentioned here, but none have ever tried before. Not even Mamosa." Quez squinted at the manual in front of him. "Uniting the stone can either be catastrophe or a salvation to both world." Quez says while flipping through another page.

"Hmm? What's this?" Quez looked on closer to the hidden corner of the grimoire. There's a strip of long paper seeps deep in beween the pages, Quez deliberately pulled it out. Luna took a closer look, "Something's written on it." Connor step up to it, "Looks like a riddle."

Suddenly, there's thousands of mini bell sound c****s and rattled violently at the distant. "Father! Something's caught in our bell shield!" A young lady, with bright auburn hair in french braids, ran into the room alarming everyone.
