Damian didn't understand what Bastet meant by her words. So, he of course asked. Bastet smiled at him.
“Come now Radames, you didn't think this would be a never-ending cycle, did you? This was her final death; her next life will be much different. She will be different. I’m not going to tell you how, when the time comes, she will tell you herself. That is if you still want to be with her.” Bastet says watching his expression.
Damian looked at Bastet, “Not a single moment has passed where I haven't wanted to be with her. I love her. I know I made mistakes and I was selfish, but I have tried my best to make up for my mistakes. I even offered her my immortality so she wouldn’t have to die again, but she refused it. I still don’t understand why.”
Bastet let out a quiet chuckle, “You will find out when the time is right. But the time has come Radames, you need to be ready for her. But first I want you to prove to me that you truly do love her, so there is something I want you to do for me.”
Damian had no idea what Bastet was about to ask of him, all he knew was that whatever she wanted would not be easy.
“What do you want me to do?” He asks her.
“She loves Aiden, just as she loves you. All her lives she has been refused something extremely important. A choice. This time she got to choose who she would be with. She has two soulmates. You and Aiden are both her soulmates, so I want you to do something that may seem a bit unorthodox. You are going to share her with Aiden. You are going to do this by giving him part of your immortality, if you do this and agree to share her life with her and Aiden then I will grant you a precious gift.” Bastet tells him.
Damian wasn't sure how to react to this request, she wanted him to share Lilly with Aiden in this new life and be okay with it. Damian let out a sigh, and he realized something. If this was the only way to be with her and have their forever, then he would take it even if it meant having to share her. He wanted what was best for her even at a cost to himself.
“I will do what you have asked, but before I do, I want to know where and when I can find her.” Damian says to Bastet.
Bastet lets out a small chuckle, “You'll find her in the hot desert of Arizona, she will be born in the year 2001, or next year. But you won't meet her until she is eighteen, she’s going to need that time to adjust and get herself together. When she is eighteen, I will have Ankh lead you to her. Or perhaps she will find you. Who knows?” Bastet tells him with a smile.
Damian nods, “I’ll wait for her there then. Me and Aiden will. I’ll explain everything to him and see if he wants this. If he does, he will become immortal.”
Bastet nods and Damian takes that as his dismissal, so he leaves and goes home...
Bastet on the other hand looks at Anubis who was standing there hidden waiting for Damian to leave.
“Well you are going easy on him considering he didn't follow your rules to the exact wording.” Anubis tells her with a tooth grin.
Bastet smiles, “Do you think I’m getting soft Anubis? I just gave him a huge task to prove himself. Besides, he let her live her life this time around. So, I'll let his disobedience slide... For now.”
Anubis laughed and then let out a sigh, “Well I’m glad this is the last time I have to do this. But you know I can't control her memories anymore once she is born again Bastet.”
Bastet sighs, “I know, she is going to remember all that time she spent in your realm, along with all her other memories. But she is strong, I know she will come through it and find her happiness. Besides, I have something that will help her get through it.”
Anubis smiles, he takes Bastet's hand and kisses it.
“The things we do for our children.” He says.
Bastet smiles at him, “I know exactly what you mean.”
Bastet watched as Anubis picked up Bastet's soul and walked towards her. She looked at the beautiful girl's soul and let out a sigh.
“One more time little one, one more time...”
