LEON

She was still dazzled by the beauty of the room when she was interrupted by a deep but smooth voice, "Vera, you're up." She turned her head to find the source, and that's when she saw him. Leon Dumont was sitting in a chair across the room, his chiseled features and piercing blue eyes gleaming in the soft light. His dark hair was perfectly messy, as if he'd just rolled out of bed. His lean, athletic build was causally relaxed, but she could sense the coiled power beneath. Broad shoulders sloped into a chest that seemed chiseled from granite, tapering to a narrow waist that made her mouth dry to glory, all this she could see, thanks to the light linen of his clothing. Long legs stretched out before him, ending in feet clad in polished black oxfords that seemed to gleam in the soft light. The oxfords added a touch of sophistication and elegance to his already impressive physique, making him look like a high-powered executive or a wealthy business man. She felt like she'd been punched in the gut. Who was this godlike creature? And why was he in the same room as her? She tried to speak, but her voice caught in her throat. Leon's gaze met her, and a hint of a smile played on his lips. "Welcome back", he said, his voice low and husky. "I was starting to think you'd sleep the day away." She struggled to find her voice, her eyes crinkling at the corners. She took a deep breath, trying to calm ger racing heart. "W-where am I?" she stuttered, her eyes stilled fixed on Leon's chiseled features. Leon's smile grew wider, and he stepped closer to her. 'You're in my penthouse apartment," he replied, his voice sounded deeper this time. "You passed out in the restroom, and I brought you here to make sure you were okay." She shook her head, trying to clear the fog. "I don't remember, what happened after I fainted?" Leon's expression turned serious. "My security team helped me get you out of there, and we brought you here. You've been asleep for a few hours." Vera's memories slowly returned, like pieces of a puzzle falling into place. She recalled fainting in the restroom. Embarrassment washed over her as she realized she must have made a scene. His gentle voice brought her back to the present. "Feeling better?" Vera nodded, still disoriented. "Yeah... I'm so sorry." Léon's smile was reassuring. "Don't worry, it happens to the best of us." As Vera sat up, she noticed a file on the table with her name on it. Curiosity got the better of her, and she opened it. Vera's eyes scanned the file, her mind racing with questions. How did he know all this? What did he want from her? Who was he? She thought back to their conversation, trying to remember if she had revealed anything about herself. But she couldn't recall saying anything that would have given him this much information. Vera's eyes widened as Léon's gaze locked onto hers. What was happening? Why was she involved in this? She felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized the extent of his knowledge. He knew about her job, her apartment, her friends. He even knew about her family. Vera's mind was a jumble of thoughts, each one more terrifying than the last. How had he gathered all this information? And what did he plan to do with it? As she sat there, trying to make sense of it all, Vera couldn't shake the feeling that she was in grave danger. She thought about trying to leave, but her legs felt heavy, as if rooted to the spot. She was trapped, and she knew it. The man's eyes never left hers, his gaze piercing. Vera felt like he could see right through her, like he knew all her secrets. Just as she was starting to lose hope, a man walked in, his presence a subtle reminder of the world outside this strange, intimate bubble. "Sir, the investor is waiting," he said, his voice crisp and professional. "We need to finalize the details." ...... Leon sat in his dimly lit study, surrounded by the trappings of his success. He stared out the window, his mind consumed by the investor's words. Marriage. It was a requirement he had never seen coming. He thought about his past, his string of failed relationships and fleeting encounters. He had never been one for commitment, never felt the need to settle down. But now, it seemed, it was the key to unlocking his future. Leon's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his own laughter. It was a cold, mirthless sound. He couldn't believe he was even considering this. Marriage, to a stranger, for the sake of his business. It was a farce. And yet, he couldn't shake the feeling that it was the right move. That this was the key to taking his business to the next level. But why marriage, they are a million and one other requirements but he chose marriage. It clearly stated, "you must be lawfully wedded to meet up to the criteria having this contract" He stood up, pacing around the room. He thought about all the women he had met, all the ones who had tried to tie him down. But none of them had been right. None of them had been willing to make the sacrifices he needed. But what if he found someone who was? Someone who was willing to play the game, to pretend to be his wife for the sake of his business? The thought sent a thrill through him. He could do it. He could find someone, anyone, to play the role. He walked over to the bar and poured himself a glass of scotch, his mind racing with possibilities. He thought about the type of woman he needed, someone who was beautiful, intelligent, and willing to play the game. As he sipped his drink, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He was a master of the game, always getting what he wanted. And what he wanted now was a wife, a trophy to show off to the world. But it wasn't just about appearances. He needed someone who could keep up with him, someone who could handle the demands of his lifestyle. He thought about his schedule, his constant travel, his late nights at the office. He needed someone who could handle it all, someone who wouldn't get in the way. As he stood there, lost in thought, he heard a noise behind him. He turned to see Pam, his assistant, standing in the doorway. "Sir, I have some information on the woman who fainted in the restroom," she said, her voice breaking the silence. Leon's eyes narrowed. "What about her?" ..... Pam walked in, scanning the room. " Sir, you need to make a response to the investor's deal", his voice sounding firm. Just then Leon had the most crazy idea. "Don't worry about that, I have found the perfect lady", he said, his gaze fixed on Vera. Vera was very confused as to what was happening, she had no idea of what both men were talking about, and why was this stranger looking at her at the mention of finding a perfect lady. She had no hint of what was happening but she knew she was somehow involved. "Vera will be my wife", he said in a harsh tone. What was he doing, he hadn't even thought about this. Oh yes, he had done a background check but that wasn't good enough. You need alot more to get married but it was just a fake marriage, nothing more. What harm could there possibly be?. His head was filled with thoughts but he managed to look calm and composed despite everything. She was the best candidate, no family to oppose the convenience. She was the best candidate, he could offer her substantial money in exchange, after all it seemed like she needed it alot. It was strictly business, nothing more. "Sir, are you sure about this?", Pam asked, confused from what he'd just heard. "Yes, I'm very certain". Vera had never been this shocked. From waking up in a luxurious room to a marriage proposal. Or would she call it a proposal because it didn't seem like one. She'd never really thought about the idea of marriage but in her wildest imaginations, this wasn't part of anything that could possibly come from it. She wasn't buying this rubbish. She doesn't even know him from Adams, how does he expects her to marry him. "Sorry, did I just hear my name?", She finally asked. Leon just ignored her and went back to the papers that Pam had handed over to him. After what seemed like an hour, Pam excused them both. Vera was still thinking, she wasn't in her right state of mind. "Hello Mr or whatever you call yourself, thanks for helping me in the restroom. I'm grateful for that. But mind you, you can't just help me and expect me to marry you for reasons whatsoever.", She blurred out. "It's Leon and you don't seem to have a choice", he said. "Oh and what makes you think so, you think you can boss me around", she scoffed. "I strongly advice you to agree, or you choose the hard way, I'm done with this conversation", he said firmly. "Okay Leon, just for your information I'm not agreeing to your deal. Thanks for the help by the way", she then made her way to the door. As she was about the leave, his voice interrupted her, "You'll definitely come back or live miserable", he said and continued reading some files. She just scoffed at his words and left. She discovered she was still at the hotel. She happened to be staying at one of the most luxurious penthouse rooms in the hotel. "Hmm this man must really be in money", she thought to herself as she tried to find her way back. After much turnarounds, she finally found the kitchen. She noticed everyone was looking at her. She knew that she had been gone for long but that didn't warrant all the looks. She made her way to her spot but that didn't stop the eyes from her. "Vera, see me in my office now", the head chef shouted. She quickly went to his his to be met by the shock of her life. "This is your letter of dismiss from the CEO of Hotel Belle Epoque"
