Chapter 3: Hell

Alex laughed as he saw the notification. It came from an application that gives you free stuff to complete easy real life missions.

He didn't complete the missions to get the gift but just enjoyed doing that at his free time, the freebies was merely something that just happened to come with the missions that he completed.

'But I don't remember completing any mission lately,' He though as he looked at the notification.

But as clicked on the notification in his phone, it redirected him to the app and it showed the mission that he had just completed and it made him even forget that his stomach was bleeding, "What the heck..." He said as he looked at the mission that supposedly completed.

He looked at the mission and couldn't believe his eyes. No, he knew that he was hallucinating. But something in him told him that it w as s more than that. "If this is true... then I might just live." He said before he clicked to receive his prize.

And as he did that he could hear the siren of a ambulance.

He tried looking around but his increasingly blurrier vision didn't allow it. And he could feel more sleepy as the time goes by and eventually, he closed his eyes.

"I'll kill Hollie, I'll kill the McDaniels..." He mumbled in his sleep before he opened his eyes and jumped out of his bed before realizing a tube was stuck in his hands and saw a blood bag connected to it.

He looked around and saw the hospital bed and the beautiful looking hospital room, "I must be in a private hospital, and I surely am in the most expensive room, that is for sure." He said before looking at the phone that was on the table. "Which means, I wasn't hallucinating about the application..." He added before picking up his phone and looking through the app.

The application user interface changed from normal and the missions that was on it was far different than to usual. Normally, it was about downloading another app or going to a concert, but now even the most normal missions consist of real life jobs like driving people somewhere.

And the prize, that used to be just gift cards, was now a ridiculous amount of money.

"What the heck is going on?" Alex said before a doctor entered the room.

Alex turned to the doctor who approached Arthur with the suit that Arthur wore. "Mr Alex am I right?" The doctor asked.

"Uhm, yes. I am Alex Thornton." He said as he put his phone in his pocket.

"Don't worry, I know about that application. After all, I got the instruction to help you from that app. But, make sure that you know this, if anyone ever asked, you have never talked to me and you have never seen me. You will have to exit this hospital now." The doctor said as he opened the door.

Alex nodded as he picked up the clothes given by the doctor and walked out of the room that he was in.

As he exited the hospital he opened his app again and couldn't believe he could earn so much of money by doing certain missions, and some prize even include getting any information he wants, and even getting a guy to kill anyone you want.

His heartbeat increase as he saw the possibility of what he could do. "With this... I can avenge my family, it's only a matter of time..." He said before he accepted his first job.

MISSION: CHAUFFEUR

As Alex clicked on the mission tab, an address could be seen, "New Mexico?" He asked wondering why was the place so far. But he brush the thought away as he remembered that the job pays $10k per hour.

He opened his pocket and saw that it was empty, "Crap." Alex said as he looked at his empty wallet. 'I can't even go back to the car... It's too risky there.' He thought.

But then, a cab pulled up in front of Arthur, waiting. A popped his head out of the window and looked at Alex, "Hey kid! You Alex?" He asked.

Alex nodded as he walked up to the cab, "My company told me to give you a free ride." He said as he opened the back door.

Alex was suspicious that this might just be one of his ex-wife's trick to kill him, but a notification in his phone appeared.

[We have sent you a cab so you can get to your job, we will be deducting $600 once you earn the money.]

As he saw the notification in his phone, he entered the cab.

The man driving the cab looked like a Mexican, his moustache was thick and inside the car was filled with pictures of Jesus and Mother Mary.

Alex looked back at his phone and wondered why the app changed and how it could even exist.

He tried searching about the app on the search engine but to no avail. 'It seems that this app has been kept secret...' He thought.

The only person he ever met who used the app was the doctor in the hospital.

He continued scrolling the jobs that he can take, and saw that he could have chose higher paying jobs that was easier to do and all he had to do was wait.

"Go to the gym?" He asked himself as he saw one of the missions.

'Qualifications for higher paying jobs? There are higher paying jobs than this???' He thought as he continued looking through all the jobs he can take before he saw the "shop" icon.

As he clicked on it, he saw items that he could buy, and his eyes widened as he saw the items, some were normal and some were highly illegal. Full auto machine guns, nuclear bombs, and illegal substance, you name it, this shop had everything, even the ability to hire an assassin for $100k per kill.

Alex knew why he got the app, "With this app, I will kill... No.. I will make the McDaniels life hell..."
