Entrance test

Ji woo flew Junxiu back to her house and she went to bed and slept. The sun rose very early in the morning at the general's house. A chariot had been sent by the Lord to escort his disciple to the school. The disciple in question was enjoying her sleep comfortably in bed. Her brother and sister were already up and ready to go to school but only she awaited.

The general sent all of Junxiu's hand maids to help get her ready as fast as possible. "Miss, please get up and get ready. Everyone is waiting for you," they tried to wake her but in vain. She was busy dreaming about the man from the lake and never wanted to wake up. She turned away from the voice that was disturbing her from her sweet dream.

Ting ting felt pity for the maids and decided to help them. He zapped Gu Junxiu with a small lighting and she got up screaming. "What was that?" she asked the maids but they didn't know what she was asking them.

"It is good that you are up miss, the Lord has sent a chariot to escort you to school and everyone is waiting for you," informed one of the maids.

"What time is it?" asked Junxiu wiping sleep from her eyes. "It is 6am," replied the same maid.

They hurried and gave her a bath and dressed her nicely, tying her hair nicely behind her head. They brought her bags and packed them on the chariot and packed her breakfast to eat on the way there. They said quick goodbyes and boarded the chariot for school. She was excited to go to school and have fun with friends. She used to be a book worm back home and the teachers loved her so maybe it will be the same here.

She got her lunch out and ate it, her sister was looking at her as though she was an alien but her brother had his eyes out the window the whole time. The chariot flew over the empire heading towards the Lords mountain where the school was. The Regal Dragon Sect was a prestigious school where the best of the continent were trained and admissions were very difficult to get. The chariot dropped them off at the foot of the mountain where they had to walk all the way to the top.

There were other students going up the mountain, Gu jun hee took it as her chance to separate herself from Junxiu. She didn't want anyone to know that they were related even though she was only getting the chance to attend this school because of that relation. Junxiu and Xiehan continued the path together quietly until they arrived at the top of the mountain where the gate of the sect stood magnificently. Many students stood in awe at the beautiful gate and Junxiu was among them. She had seen wonderful things in the modern times but that gate was a wonder.

There were close to three hundred students on top of the mountain here to join the sect.

They were from all around the continent and had come with recommendations from big names and houses. They stood at the gate which was locked and waited for instructions. They didn't have to wait long because a teacher had come from inside the gate to talk to them.

"Good morning students, I welcome you to the sect and hope that you will enjoy your stay here for the next four years. I am teacher Kim and I am a beast tamer so I teach cultivators how to tame beast. I am here to inform you that before you enter the sect you have to go through there test to determine where in the sect you belong. Now please stand in three lines and walk through the gate to take your test," he said and guided them into the school.

They were guided into the tents where one by one they were given a test. Junxiu was the last in line, she didn't want to rush and took her time calming her nerves as the line continued to move. The line kept moving and it was her turn.

"For your first test you have to solve a riddle. There are many books in the great library, how many words are in those books?" the teacher asked.

She wrecked her brain for the answer. "A zillion,"

"No, you have two more tries," he informed her.

"A billion,"

"No."

She thought about it very carefully. "Ten," she answered.

"Correct. Next test is one that a cultivator should know by heart. " What method do you use to cleanse your body of inpurities?"

"I can think of only one that I know, when you get a contracted beast then after the contract is signed the bond will cleanse your body of any impurities," she replied.

"That is a method but not the one I expected. You pass the test, for your last question: Name one pill that purifies the body,"

"The flaming pill," she replied and passed her test. She was escorted into a hall. She was the only student there, she sat down and wiped the sweat off her forehead. "That was a close call," she said talking a long breath.

"How was it a close call when I answered all the questions for you. All you did was repeat the things that I said," complained Ting ting from inside the celestial ring.

"Well, I was the one saying everything and it wasn't easy. That was a lot of pressure," she said.

The door opened and the teacher from earlier at the gate came in. He was surprised to see her there. "Hello," he greeted.

"Hi," she replied.

"Hi? What is that? Forget it and tell me have you had your test?" he asked and Junxiu nodded.

"It was easy wasn't it, we don't make difficult entrance exams. We just ask common things that are normal for a cultivator and we mix it up with tricky questions. The whole point for the test is to help our students with the ability for critical thinking. Not all problems in life have a clear straightforward solution," he explained.
