The next morning, I was back in the kitchen at 5am.
Rejection didn’t pay the bills. Pain didn’t excuse me from scrubbing pots.
“Move, rejected mutt,” Ava snapped, slamming a tray of dirty plates on the counter. “Alpha Damian wants breakfast in 20 minutes. And he wants it served by you.”
My hands froze in the soapy water. “Me?”
“Yeah. He specifically asked for the Omega who embarrassed him last night.” She smiled, cruel. “Go ruin his appetite.”
My wolf whimpered. But I nodded. “Yes, ma’am.”
Twenty minutes later, my hands were shaking as I carried the tray to the Alpha’s dining room. Eggs. Toast. Coffee. Black. Just how the reports said he liked it.
Damian was sitting at the head of the table. No shirt. Just black sweatpants and scars. His hair was wet from training.
He didn’t look up when I entered.
I set the tray down. My voice was barely a whisper. “Breakfast, Alpha.”
Still nothing.
I turned to leave.
“Stop.” His voice was ice. It froze me in place.
Damian finally looked at me. Those silver eyes dragged over me like I was dirt. “So you’re the one.”
“Yes, Alpha.”
“The Omega I rejected.”
The word again. *Rejected.* It cut deeper this time.
He leaned forward. “You’re going to be my personal servant for the next month. Every meal. Every room. You’ll clean up my messes.”
My chest tightened. “Why me?”
Damian’s lips curved. Not a smile. A threat.
“Because I want to watch you break, Luna Carter.”
And with that, he took a bite of the food I made.
