Chapter 5
That night I dreamt of the forest again, the dream starting the same way: The Long Trail, the strange door hidden in the roots of a tree, the hospital, and David lying in bed. Again, I healed him with my powers. Again, we embraced, warm feelings of relief and love flowing through me from him while I continued to channel healing energy into his body. The embrace turned romantic, evolving into a kiss, the feelings flooding me becoming and more intense.
His emotions hooked me, reeled me in deeper, even as he pulled me closer. Responding to his passion I moved my body to lie next to his, reveling in the feel of his long torso against mine, his incredibly strong hands running up and down along my spine. I ran a hand through his short, thick hair. Except he couldn't have short hair.
