CHAPTER2

'' Melissa, what happened?'' Madam Trisha asked as she turned to her. But instead of

responding, she stretched out her hand towards her and she quickly helped her up.

'' Th... Thank you ma'am.

'' Melissa stuttered, as she finally found her voice. Madam Trisha led

her to her room and asked her to rest. However, she warned her against Alpha Ryder, before

walking out.

Melissa glanced around the room, and tears gathered in her eyes again as the earlier events

flashed into her mind. The more she thought about it, the angrier and heartbroken she was.

'' You will regret this, Elena. You and Alpha Ryder will surely regret this,

'' she muttered under her

breath, sniffing loudly while wiping out her tears.

Her heart suddenly hardened, and determination surged through her. With a tightened face, she

rose from the bed and strode to the window.

'' I must leave and start my life anew somewhere else. I can't stay here anymore.

'' She muffled,

nodding her head slowly.

Without so much thought, she quickly gathered her belongings and was about to leave, when

something slipped into her mind.

'' I can't leave without breaking the bond. What should I do?''

She thought about it for a few minutes and, with determination, decided to approach Alpha

Ryder.

'' This will be the last time you'll set your eyes on me, I promise.

'' She muttered and

headed towards the door.

Melissa stopped abruptly as she got to Alpha Ryder's chamber. Her heart beat rapidly as she

stood at the door, contemplating what to do. Although she was determined earlier, recalling what

he did to her, she couldn't help but become frightened.

However, the door flung open, and her heart skipped a beat as she moved backward

immediately. Standing before her was Alpha Ryder, staring right into her eyeballs.

'' Are you alright?'' he asked, his voice low and soothing. Melissa couldn't believe her ears.

'' Huh?'' She blurted out with widened eyes, and without saying a word, Alpha Ryder began to

walk towards her slowly.

Melissa shook her head negatively and continued to move backward until her back hit the wall.

She yelped in astonishment and glanced back, before turning in Ryder's direction again. T o her

utmost surprise, he'd closed the distance between them, his nose inches from hers.

''I... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to...

'' her voice trailed off as he leaned on and kissed her softly,

causing her eyes to pop out of their sockets.

'' It's fine. You don't have to apologize for anything,

'' he said softly, and she gulped down and bit

her lower lip, unable to say a word.

'' Come with me,

'' he grabbed her hand and led her into his

room.

For the first time since she lost her mother, she felt loved again. She suddenly forgot about what

happened earlier; the only thing on her mind was the Alpha's kind gestures.

'' Will you mind to have a drink with me?'' Ryder asked and Melissa nodded anxiously.

She replied, trying not to forget herself over excitement.

'' Sure,

''

'' Have a sit then, let me get us something,

'' he said and she nodded and sat down on the

nearby couch. Alpha Ryder strode towards the celery and brought out a bottle of drink with two

glasses. He walked back to where Melissa sat and dropped them on a stool, before taking a

seat beside her.

Alpha Ryder poured the drink into the glasses and offered one to her. With a glint in his eyes, he

raised his glass in the air and said with a smile on his face.

'' Cheers for a new friendship.

''

'' Cheers!'' Melissa said loudly, a broad smile on her face. She sipped the drink and at the same

time, Alpha Ryder shifted closer to her. His body began to tense as his eyes locked into hers.

''Mark her. She's ours!'' His wolf growled in his head, and he bit his lips and groaned loudly with

a deep frown on his face, shutting his eyes tightly.

'' Are you alright?'' Melissa, who was surprised at his sudden reaction, blurted out in

astonishment, and he nodded his head and faked a smile.

'' I'm fine. I just need to...

'' His voice

trailed off and he got up swiftly and headed towards the window to clear off his head a bit.

'' This wasn't a good idea,

'' Alpha Ryder thought and took a glance at Melissa, who was staring

at him keenly.

'' Do you like it?'' He asked, and she nodded and sipped her drink again. After a while, Alpha

Ryder walked back to her, and they engaged in a heartwarming conversation while drinking

together.

'' I was about to leave, but the way you're treating me now, I don't think that would be possible,

''

Melissa said and rolled her eyes drunkenly, taking the glass of drink to her lips again.

'' That's enough! You're drunk already.

'' Alpha Ryder said and tried to take the glass from her,

but she pulled it away from his grasp.

'' No, it isn't. Let's be merry, today is a great day. You don't know how happy I am.

'' She sipped

her drink, while Alpha Ryder watched her intently.

Melissa got up and staggered backward, then slumped on the chair, her head on Alpha Ryder's

chest.

'' What the heck?'' he fumed and his jaw tightened instantly. Without a second thought, he

pushed her off and stood up.

'' I hated this from the beginning. I don't think I can keep up with

this. I'm sorry Elena, but I can't do this.

'' He gulped down the drink and dropped the glass on the

table.

He was about to walk away when he felt a hand wrapped around his waist. He turned around

immediately, only to see Melissa clutching onto him tightly. Her scents, a mixture of damp earth,

moss, and wildflowers, filled his nostrils, taking his mind away.

Slowly, he leaned towards her and kissed her neck softly. Shivers ran down her spine, but she

bit her lips and remained still, shutting her eyes as the sensation surged through her body.

'' You're mine, Melissa! No one can take you away from me.

'' He growled and his eyes changed

instantly to that of gold.

Without much ado, Alpha Ryder carried Melissa in a bridal style and headed towards the bed.

He dropped her gently, and climbed on her, his eyes burning with desire as he stared at her.

In a flash, he ripped off her dress and threw it across the room, a loud groan escaping his lips.

Melissa stretched out her hand towards his hair and began to mess with it. However, her touch

electrified him, and he couldn't wait to devour her.

He began to kiss her again, and she reciprocated instantly, rolling their tongues against each

other. Suddenly, he broke the kiss and stared keenly at her smooth, soft breasts, which were

begging for a touch.

Melissa blinked her eyes rapidly, wondering what he was about to do to her. But when she felt

his wet tongue enveloping her hardened n****e and his other hand on the other, she couldn't

help but moan loudly.
