CHAPTER3

THE NEXT DAY

Melissa woke up with a yawn and glanced around the room. Her eyes bulged out of its sockets

when she realized she was in Alpha Ryder's chamber. Her heart skipped a beat and she

stepped down from the bed. That's when she noticed that she was naked. Looking at the floor,

she found her wears scattered about.

'' What...

'' her voice trailed off as everything that happened began to replay in her mind. Melissa

gasped and covered her mouth. She looked around in search of Alpha Ryder, but he was

nowhere to be found.

'' Don't tell me it happened? Wake up Melissa, you're dreaming.

'' She slapped herself, giggling

happily. With a smile on her face, she got up and picked her clothes, then headed to the

bathroom to take a shower.

Meanwhile, Alpha Ryder ran his hand through his hair in frustration as he paced around Elena's

room. Never in his life had he thought he'd make such a great mistake.

'' how could I be so

stupid?'' she asked herself, frowning deeply.

At the same time, Elena emerged from the bathroom, a white towel around her body.

Alpha.

'' She called as she saw him.

'' is everything alright?''

'' My

Alpha Ryder left where he was standing and strode towards the window, his hands on his waist.

Elena gasped in shock as a different thought slipped into her mind.

'' Could it be that he couldn't

carry out the plan?'' she asked herself, eyeing him intently.

'' Everything went smoothly, but in the end, I messed up.

'' he glanced at Elena, then looked out

through the window again.

'' I marked her. I don't know how it happened, I...

'' his voice trailed off,

and he gulped down and tried to speak again, but it was difficult.

Elena sank onto the nearby couch, staring at the floor blankly, while trying to get a grasp of his

words.

'' If he'd marked her, then what about me?''

She sprang up and hurried towards Alpha Ryder, who swiftly turned to her with a sad face, as

he noticed her approach.

'' Why did you let it happen? Does it mean that we can't be together?''

She grabbed his hand and stared directly at his face.

I'm carrying your pups.

''

'' You can still reject her, right? Remember,

Alpha Ryder sighed and pulled her into a warm embrace, running his hand through her wet hair

as he sniffled it.

'' You're the one I want, Elena. I chose you from the beginning when you weren't

with my pups, and I'll continue to choose you on every occasion.

''

He gulped down and continued,

'' Although it's hard, I believe I'll find a way and break the bond.

Nothing will come between us, not even the moon goddess.

'' He concluded and kissed her

passionately.

'' You promise?'' Elena asked, concern etched on her face.

'' With all my heart.

'' Alpha Ryder replied with a stern face, and Elena's lips suddenly curved into

a smile.

'' Thank you.

'' She muttered and held onto him tightly.

At the same time, something slipped into her mind, and she quickly disengaged from the hug

and looked sideways, causing Alpha Ryder to raise his brows in surprise.

'' Are you alright?'' he

asked, and she turned to him with glistened eyes.

'' I think I got an idea.

'' She blurted out hastily, and Ryder's eyes lit up as he pulled her towards a

chair. As soon as they sat down, he turned to her and said,

'' Does it have to do with the mate

bond?''

Elena nodded her head, and Alpha Ryder strained his ears and sat quietly, paying attention to

what she had to say. Elena began to narrate what she had in mind, but the more she talked

about it, the more confused Alpha Ryder became.

''How does it happen? I don't get you?'' he asked with a deep frown, leaning against the chair.

Elena got up and sat down in his labs, then slid her hand down to her private area. A groan

escaped his lips and she smiled in victory and bit her lips sexily.

'' As long as we continue to do

this, she will be more broken than we expected.

''' She rubbed her ass against his d**k, and he

let out a loud groan again as his hands moved to her breast in a swift.

Elena knew Alpha Ryder was a s*x freak, and having been with him for months, she had come

to realize that she was the only one who could match his energy. She got up and loosened the

towel, then sat back on his lap, grinning from ear to ear as she noticed his hardened shaft.

'' You don't need to break the bond anymore. Let's torture her instead, with this.

'' she eyed him

sexily and kissed him lightly on the cheek. Alpha Ryder grabbed her face and kissed her lips

instead, gaining a moan from her.

Elena suddenly broke the kiss and stood up. She stretched out her hand and grabbed his dress,

then pulled him up slowly.

'' Come here,

'' she muttered and began to drag him towards the bed, her eyes not leaving his.

When they got to the bedside, Elena lay down and spread her legs wider, giving Alpha Ryder

the go-ahead to do whatever he wanted with it.

Alpha Ryder's eyes sparkled and he licked his lips as he stared at her clits. Without hesitation,

he reached for his dress and began to pull them off.

Melissa had just finished taking her bath and was admiring herself in the mirror when she

noticed a strange mark on her neck. She touched it slightly, leaning forward to have a look at it

carefully. Her eyes widened when she realized what it was, and a bright smile appeared on her

face as she ran her hand around it.

'' I can't believe this happened.

'' She muttered, her eyes fixed on the mirror.

She turned away and began to pace around the room, thinking about their future together.

glad Elena didn't succeed in taking you away from me. We belong together, Alpha Ryder. And

as the future Luna of the Brooklyn Park, I'll ensure that there's peace and unity among us.

Suddenly, an eerie, unsettling energy washed over her. It started as a gentle hum, a vibration

that seemed to emanate from her very core. But it quickly escalated into a searing, burning

sensation that left her gasping.

She looked down to see her skin beginning to shift and ripple as if the very fabric of her being

was being torn apart. Thin, crimson lines appeared on her arms and torso, like the delicate

etchings of a razor-sharp blade.

Melissa's mind reeled as she stumbled backward, her vision blurring.

She collapsed to the ground, her body wracked with sobs, and her heart shattered into a million

pieces. The physical pain was nothing compared to the emotional torment that threatened to

consume her.

'' What's going on? Why is...

'' She paused when she heard the sound of the door being pushed

open. It was replaced by a loud footstep, and listening carefully; it appeared it was coming in her

direction.

Melissa raised her head slowly and widened her eyes as she locked eyes with the dark-hearted

Alpha of the Silver Moon Park, King Moreno.

Her heart slipped and she shifted backward, frightened. Moreno wasn't surprised. Everyone

fears him wherever he goes, and it's what he loves the most. T aking a glance around the room,

he couldn't find Alpha Ryder, his friend whom he came to visit, and he had no business with the

helpless woman on the floor.

As he turned to leave, she cried out in pain, causing him to stop in his tracks. Moreno turned to

her swiftly, and the situation on the ground became clear to him as something slipped into his

mind. But he needed to be sure.

He turned swiftly to her and squatted down beside her, his eyes locked on hers. Melissa felt

shivers running down her spine and looked away instantly. At the same time, Alpha Moreno

brushed off the hair covering her neck and his eyes popped out of their sockets as he saw the

mark.

''My instincts were right, after all. Her mate is cheating on her. But who could have done this, to

such a beautiful woman?'' he asked himself, lost in Melissa's stunning looks.

'' What's your name?'' he asked after a while of silence, but she couldn't respond. Instead, she

yelped in pain again, as she felt the weight of her mate's infidelity bearing down on her. The pain

of his intimacy with Elena slicing through her like a knife.

Her body convulsed, and she muttered between gritted teeth, shaking her head from side to

side.

''My Alpha, please help me. Please...

'' She pleaded, even though she knew he was the

most heartless wolf that existed.

Although he would've been angry about her unresponsiveness to his question, he found himself

succumbing to her wishes. Without hesitation, he carried her into his arms and walked out of the room.
