Telling The Family

 The next morning, I woke up and everyone was just starting to wake up, I was still laying on Jason’s chest.  

“OH MY GOD!” I heard Alyssa scream 

“Dude shut up!” I heard Megan say and I could feel all eyes on me and Jason  

“Please stop staring” I said still laying there with my eyes closed.  

“Well, what the f**k happened last night” Jess said forcing me to get up and kicking my foot.  

“Nothing” I said opening my eyes finally facing the world outside of this little bubble I put myself in  

“Doesn’t look like nothing” Megan said and smirked.  

“Wipe that smirk off your face” Jason said sitting up and looking at her.  

“I didn’t know you were awake” Jess said lifting an eyebrow.  

“I need coffee anyone else want some?” Jason asked standing up and putting his shirt on.  

“Yes please” We all said in unison, almost begging for coffee 

“Kay.” He said and walked out the door.  

“Okay, spill what happened?” Jess said sitting beside me.  

“Literally nothing” I said shaking my head  

“Dude when I fell asleep you were still between Megan and Alyssa and other then you and Jay, I was the last one to fall asleep” Jess said to me in a sarcastic tone.  

“I mean it looks like something happened” Megan said eyeballing the bed.  

“Dude, I couldn’t fall asleep so Jay had me sit with him and he played with my hair until I did, next thing I knew I woke up to someone screaming ‘OH MY GOD!’“ I said mocking Alyssa.  

“Dude, I realized what I wanted to tell you guys, Its 2 in the afternoon.” Alyssa said quickly and everyone checked their phones.  

“Well, we did stay up super late last night.” I answered not shocked at all.  

“But that was the best sleep I've had in a long time” I said again  

“Because it was with Jason? Like old times?” Megan said and winked and nudged Alyssa.  

“Okay, soon everything will be revealed but like. I can’t continue to fight you guys on everything Jay and I do, we are just friends and I've already made that very clear to him. He is mated and marked okay. And Jess he does the same thing with you when you are having a hard time!” I said to everyone in the room with a touch of attitude.  

“Yeah, when I'm having a hard time but he’s never stayed with me like that or even slept with me like that” Jess said with a matter-of-fact tone in her voice.  

“Well, how was I supposed to know?! I’ve been gone for almost FIVE. YEARS.!” I yelled at them making the whole room laugh just then Jay walked in with coffee. 

“Oh, you are my savior” Jess said taking the coffee from him  

“Thank you, Jay,” Megan said a little flirty.  

“You are the best” Alyssa said quickly 

“Thanks” I said to him quickly and started drinking my coffee.  

“I have to go take care of something but I’ll be back in a bit, are you girls good to hang out with Willow till I get back?” Jason asked and everyone looked confused.  

“Yeah, she’ll be fine” Jess said speaking for everyone in the room and with that Jason turned his heal and walked back out the door closing it firmly behind him.  

---KNOCK KNOCK--- 

“Come in” I yelled automatically.  

“Hey darling. Oh, the whole gang is here huh? Where’s Jay?” Aunt Mindy said confused.  

“He had to step out for a bit but the girls are going to stay with me” I said reassuring her.  

“Okay, well I just came by to let you know we are leaving for the day and will be back tomorrow morning.” Mindy said giving me and each one of the girls a hug before making her way back to the door.  

“Okay, have fun!” I said as she walked out and closed the door.  

MINDY’S P.O.V.  

As I closed the hospital door I turned around and Ron was standing there waiting for me. 

“Stop scaring me like that!” I yelled and slapped his arm  

“But you are so easy to scare!” He said and laughed  

“Are you ready?” I asked quietly  

“Yeah, everything will be taken care of here” he said reassuring me and leading me to the car  

“Carson?” I asked quickly  

“Already in the car babe” He said reassuring me once again. 

“Okay, are we forgetting anything?” I asked quickly  

“No, we have everything except you, Get in the car woman!” He yelled at me  

“Okay, I'm going!” I yelled back at him climbing into the car.  

I was anxious about leaving Willow here, I know Jason will take good care of her and keep her safe should anything happen. On one hand I had to do this for her. On the other I didn’t want to leave her after everything she has been through. I sat there looking out the window thinking for 3 hours, Before I knew it, we were pulling up to the gates of Dark Moon. A big DM was engraved on the door and guards were standing at the gate waiting for us to pull up further.  

“Names please and ID’s” The guard said to us.  

“It's okay. I know them.” A similar voice said but I couldn’t tell who it was until they came into focus  

“Sam!” I yelled getting out of the car and running over to him giving him a warm hug. It was about 8 at night now, counting the pit stops we were on the road for almost 6 hours.  

“Hey, I was actually just about to send Jen off to your place but I see you came here. Why?” Sam asked engulfing me in a hug  

“Well, we have some news, some big news. I need to speak with James and Alex.” I said reassuring him  

“Oh, um okay. Give me a second” Sam answered and quickly mind linked James and Alex.  

“Okay, follow me...”  Sam answered and we all followed him  

“Oh, and is Luka here?” I asked quickly  

“Yeah, showed up last night with some wild story.” Sam responded and gave me a confused look before he started walking again.  

“I don’t think it’s a story Sam” I looked at him and nodded.  

We drove up the gates into the pack territory, we went up a long drive way. It's been years since I've been here. I forgot how big the pack was back then I can only imagine what it looks like now. We drove up and the scenery in this place was the best I had ever seen; it makes our pack grounds look like chop liver.  

“And here we are, home sweet home for me” Sam said with a smile  

I sat there taking in all its glory, they have certainly changed the place a lot since I was here 3 years ago. 

“It's still beautiful” I gasped as we stepped out of the car by the pack hospital 

“Well, Alex always had a knack for beautiful wood work and stone walls” Ron smiled and put his hand on my shoulder.  

“Come on guys” Sam said walking ahead of us waiting for us to follow.  

“Luka is in here to; He was getting ready to leave with Jen.” Sam said which shocked Carson, Ron and I.  

“I thought she hated him” We all asked 

“Well yeah she does, but she never takes her job lightly and when the alpha asked her what was she supposed to say? No?” Sam said and laughed and we all awkwardly chuckled behind him following along like ducks in a row.  

“Here is Alex and James, and here is Luka.” He said pointing down the hall from Alex and James.  

“Can you have him meet us in Alex and James room?” I asked nicely  

“Sure mom, anything you need” Sam said and rolled his eyes, I know things are not going to go well; but it is what needs to be done and I knocked on the door and heard a faint  

“Come in” threw the door.  

“Hey sweet girl” I said opening the door and locked eyes with Alex 

“Mindy, Ron!” She yelled jumping out of the bed and running over to us giving us a big hug. James following shortly after  

“I have news for you guys; but first a congratulations are in order!” I said looking over at a baby boy in the bassinet  

“Oh yes, had him last night!” Alex said smiling  

“You look happy” I said quieting my voice  

“Well, it's been a long road but I think I'm finally starting to accept things as they are and now how I want them to be.” She replies to me. Oh no, this is going to be harder than I thought. 

“Alex, James you might want to sit down for this” I looked at them both and said as Luka walked in the door behind me.  

“I don’t want him here.” James said in a low growl.  

“He needs to be here James; He needs to hear this to” I answered sternly.  

“Fine, but he stays on that side of the room” James said crossing his arms like a child.  

“Mindy, you're scaring me; what's wrong?” Alex asked her voice breaking.  

“Luka found Willow.” I said and the whole room started crying.  

“Luka?” Alex said and looked at him 

“Yeah?” Luka answered 

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Alex asked  

“Well in my defensive I wasn’t allowed to be around you Ma’am” Luka said and shot a look towards James, which automatically granted James a smack upside the head and on his knees with his arms up. 

“Seriously? I am not a child” James said pouting 

“You act like a child you will be treated like a child” Alex said before continuing on to me.  

“Okay, when did you find her?” She asked me confused  

“She wondered in about a week ago but hasn’t been fully awake and alert until today, I didn’t know who she was at first so I called local packs to see if they had been missing anyone, A rouge or a runaway or criminal, something that would indicate if I should trust her or not, when everyone else told me no I was going to try to ahold of you guys when Jason came into my office yelling about how the girl woke up and was asking about Luka and me.” Mindy said with hopeful eyes.  

“Where is she now!?” Alex quickly blurted out  

“Alex that’s the catch, she remembers everything in grave detail, I had her speak to Lena and she wanted their conversation to be recorded. She doesn’t want to have to explain anything more than once. Lena told me I couldn’t bring it with in case it got lost since she hadn’t had a chance to make a copy for her files yet, and Willow, she’s not able to leave the hospital yet.” I responded with a crack in my voice and pleading eyes for them to trust me.  

“Is she okay?” James said still sitting on the floor with his arms up 

“Well, she has a broken leg and a broken arm, she was dehydrated and starved and is battling an infection from a wound on her hip.” Ron answered quickly giving me a second to recollect my thoughts 

“What do you mean an infection...” Luka asked me from the far side of the room away from everyone else 

“Well, it seems that her kidnapper cut her with a silver blade....” I answered lowly  

“WHAT?!” James roared shaking the hospital room.  

“See this is why Lena suggested we make our way to my pack and watch the video together. Willow wrote down the names of everyone she wanted to watch it but she also wrote that she needs time to process and she doesn’t want to talk about it until she brings it up to you.” I said handing Alex a couple pieces of paper with names on it. I had already looked through them and pre-approved them beforehand. Mostly it was just us but something caught my eye when I saw Luka’s name on the list and under it was a name I didn’t recognize.  

“Well, we can make sure everyone on the list is at your pack grounds tomorrow morning. Would you like to stay the night? I can have some omegas clear out a guest room for you on Sam and Jen’s floor. Luka will stay in the hospital tonight and then we will talk to the doctor about releasing him tomorrow morning as well as I am feeling, I'm being released tonight.” Alex answered giving me a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder.  

“Yes, please Alex don’t make me drive all the way home tonight” Ron said happily  

“Okay, it is done. If you want you can go let your wolfs run and come back when you are done, I'm sure everything will be ready by then. Including dinner.” Alex said handing the piece of paper to Jen to get everyone together no doubt.  

“That sounds wonderful. Thank you, Alex.” I responded before giving her a hug 

“Hey I have a question?” James said curiously  

“Yeah?” Ron asked confused.  

“Why didn’t you just call us?” James asked lifting an eyebrow 

“Well, since you changed your number after we had been here last, I didn’t have it but I called your office and talked to your secretary and she should have sent over an email.” I answered quickly trying to explain myself, not that I had to.  

“Yeah, that makes sense. I haven’t had a chance to check my work email.” James answered and hung his head. 

“Next time just have Carson call and I will make sure you get ahold of Alex and James” Jen said standing by Sam 

“Jen, I hadn’t even realized you were in the room. I’m sorry” I said and walked over giving her a big hug, she was in fact my daughter in law 

“It’s okay, there has been a lot going on today but how about we all just go for a run?” Jen asked with hopeful eyes.  

“Of course, honey!” I said and started for the door. 

“Mindy...” I heard Alex’s voice trail off.  

“Yeah?” I turned around and looked her with tears streaming down her face  

“Thank you.” She said in the softest sweetest tone of voice I had ever heard come out of her mouth 

“Of course, darling. I love Willow like my own”  I said and walked out of the room.  

As soon as my feet hit the ground Jynx wanted to take off and just run until the days end. I quickly slipped my clothes off and shifted. As soon as her feet hit the ground, I could tell she was one happy pup. I could feel the smile along my face and looking through her eyes was just more special this time. I looked to my left, and then to my right As Ron, Sam, and Jen had all started to shift. Rons wolf was larger because he was an Alpha, His fur was a darker brown almost like stained wood. He had beautiful cool blue eyes with a hint of gray around them. Seeing him in wolf form always makes my heart stop. I looked to my left to Sam who had now shifted. His wolf was Brown to, but a light brown with specks of white and darker browns trickling down his back with random spots of white all over him, his eyes almost a dark green but light enough to tell they were green, and over at Jen who has also now shifted. She was a darker color, almost like a rusty wood color. Kind of like a Tan and Golden brown mixed together with light blue eyes. I never get over family runs but this one felt more wholesome than the rest. Maybe it was my old age but I took every second in before we took off. Running around like children playing as if it was Christmas morning and all the toys we had to fight over. Sam and I had our issues to but; he’s my son and I still love him, just like Luka.
