13Vince sat down at his desk, impatient to distract his troubled mind. If you didn’t think about it, it wasn’t happening, right? He brought up his morning list to find that his first punter was Rita Findlay. He’d found that his messy overlap between friends and patients was endemic in country practice—the longer you stayed, the more of your friends became patients and vice versa.
